10mm-Why did I ever hesitate?

I am been pondering a 10mm for some time, but was hesitant about all the hype. A couple of weeks ago I ordered a Storm Lake conversion for my G30, some 10mm magazines, and an extra extractor to modify for it. While at my LGS picking up my barrel last week, I ended up getting a good deal on a new Gen 3 G20SF to go with it. Long story short, it was a beautiful day at the gun club's pistol ranges. The G20 was spot-on right out of the box, and a joy to shoot. I then put Wolff 21 pound springs and guide rod, along with the modified extractor, in the G30 and again was amazed at the ease of handling and accuracy. I shot only Underwood ammo in 135gr jhp, 155 JHP, 165 FMJ, and 180 FMJ and am amazed...this Glock addiction is really taking a toll on my 1911's range time, but I'm lovin' it! Sorry for the long post, just thrilled with these new acquisitions. Lesson learned: if you're on the fence about getting a 10mm...get off!

The G20 Gen3 SF and the 10mm rock! Period. Love that gun and round. Congrats. Mine is stock except for the Ghost 3.5 connector. Nice range gun. My wife even shoots it and likes it.

It made me smile reading your report.

WARNING: A Glock 10mm pistol (either native caliber or conversion) and Underwood 10mm ammo can cause uncontrollable grinning.

I gave my G30SF 45ACP pistol to a nephew last year along with some 10mm conversion gear for the pistol since I was moving to .40 Super with a G30 Gen4. He likes having the flexibility to shoot both calibers and loves to shoot 10mm.

I've ordered a 6" KKM barrel, more Wolff springs and guide rod, 3.5 connector, and sights that should arrive this week...then practice, practice, practice, and first Glock deer. I'm addicted and not even seeking a cure, lol. Funny thing, fits in my G30 Theiss holster perfectly and IWB isn't really bad, just a little weighty.

I have never seen the need for a 10mm, BUT I'm glad that Glock offers that choice...and many on GT really like it too...I'm starting to wonder if I'm missing something...

Guess my next step is to find a good source for reloading brass. I'm ordering a bunch of Underwood's for starters, and getting spoiled to the punch of their ammo. I'm afraid PPU and such to shoot for the brass would take away from my feel for gun, if that makes sense. It doesn't seem like the spent cases have much bulge in them, so it seems Underwood brass is pretty decent. No distortion, primer area, nor smile that others have warned of from hotter ammo. Any brass sources/hints would be greatly appreciated!

For years, whenever invited to, I shot other peoples' GLOCK pistols in every caliber made. Always enjoyed them but never bought one. Until the day I shot my friend Tom's G29.

I know I got da' sick dat time.

Before that week was out I bought a BNIB G29, my very first personally-owned GLOCK.

That was over twelve years ago and I still have it. I hope you really enjoy yours, man!
