OP, congrats!
I too honestly would have thought the GAP would have done better.
When the G38S comes out, I'll have one!

If it wasn't for the thick slides, I would own one of each model. Making the slides thick was glocks biggest mistake. Should of made them thin like the 41.

Yes, the slide is thicker......but look at the size of the hole on the business end of the 39!

Amazing what a noticeable difference a couple of millimeters makes.

I own all three and they are my favorite Glocks to shoot. I also reload, making shooting more enjoyable and much easier.

I admit, you probably cannot go to every LGS and buy the ammo. If you ask them, they will stock it. Buying online has never been an issue. Reloading is simple and while it can be done with conventional 45 ACP dies, I have a separate Lee pro 1000 with 45 GAP dies just for this caliber. If you load 45 ACP and either 40 or 9mm, all you need is brass and you should have the components to get started. A cost savings is it used the SPP.

I have been carrying my G 39 fairly often these days. I normally carry Speer Gold Dot 200 grn HP.

I agree with CDW4ME, those who spew drivel about the 45 GAP represent the Internet Hostage Rescue Team and have never shot one.

R Lee Ermy talked me into buying one when I met him in the Houston Air Port. I do not regret paying $350 for a NIB G 37 and 200 rds of ammo. That is another great sideline, you can almost always find one for $400 or less.

The .45 GAP is a great round. My favorite!

I personally like the .45 ACP, but ammo (and guns for that matter) are very scarce here in Cali. Plus it's hard to justify another caliber when my department will give me carry ACP ammo.

That all being said, I hear nothing but good things about the GAP round. Were the ammo more plentiful and available I may venture into a GAP gun.

Is the slide the same width as the 20, 21, 29, and 30?

For me and 45 GAP, it is the lack of capacity. I want more BB's.

Internet Hostage Rescue Team!!!! Oh man that is a hoot. I've never heard that one before and it is so, so appropriate.

I have the G-38, and ordered the G-39 yesterday. Ammo is not a problem since I have a computer and internet access. I also reload. Just need to get a good IWB holster for carry.

Yes, 1.12'' vs 1.00" for a 9mm, as reported by my dial caliper

A 9mm is more powerful and larger than a BB, but if that's how you feel

Another person understands the convenience of home delivery vs driving all over the place and settling for whatever the local options are.

I have 5 Glocks in 45 GAP. Love them. I'd like a few more than 10 rds in a pistol as well, but I change magazines pretty fast!! LOL!!!

Since the Glock 38 has been mentioned

5 shot average for two of the same loads as I reported for the 39 (and one different one) out of my Glock 38

Glock 39:
Winchester 230 JHP @ 779 fps / 310# KE
Winchester 185 Silvertip @ 875 fps / 315# KE
Winchester 230 Ranger T @ 797 fps / 324# KE
Speer Gold Dot 185 @ 994 fps / 406# KE

Glock 38:
Winchester 230 Ranger T @ 837 fps/ 358# KE
Speer Gold Dot 200 @ 949 fps / 400# KE
Speer Gold Dot 185 @ 1,062 fps / 463# KE

The Glock 38 (45 GAP) uses the same frame as a 19/23 and has an eight shot magazine.
