An overdue salute to a once anonymous man

This man's efforts deserve recognition.

Our world needs more men like this. Thank you Lee Scott.

Side note. Shadow mountain is my old stomping grounds.

About 15 years ago, Lee Scott heard the news that a Phoenix police officer had been shot and killed in the line of duty.

Scott, founder of Shadow Mountain Mortuary, phoned the Phoenix Police Department and had a simple proposal. Let him take care of the entire funeral service, he said. At no cost.

The officer was just one of at least a dozen fallen Phoenix police officers who would be laid to rest under Scott’s respectful watch at no cost to the families.

All Scott asked for in return was anonymity.

Scott had quietly done the same thing for others, often for homeless people or other forgotten members of the community.
Mr Scott, that's very, very cool. Thanks.

Mr. Scott is a true hero for taking care of emergency personnel as well as the homeless and those who could not afford it.

And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But you, when you pray, enter into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you openly.

Amen. Very appropriate.

Character is defined by what you do when no one is watching....or in this case, by what you do when no one knows that it's you doing it;

Bravo, Mr. Scott, for your charity, and your compassion for those who sacrificed for their community, and for those who had no one to care for them.....

You were truly a man of character.

Rest easy.....
