A smart movie-maker would be capturing all that on film. He'd have all the stock footage he needs for the next zombie apocalypse epic.

Supermarket shooting at Kroger ahead of Georgia snow storm

...and this is a snowstorm - just wait to see what they do when the economy collapses and their EBT cards die.

I look forward to snow, we don't get it often enough here. The talk of .25-.50 of ice tomorrow? Not so much.

Natural gas ventless logs, water heater, weber grill and city water.

I'm OK for a couple days if it all goes dark, but we have one of the best electric co ops in SC....Laurens Electric.

I'm guessing 80% of their lines are underground.

Good luck to those in the ice path.

And if it lasts 2 weeks, there will be mayhem.
Double damn right that!

It's been quite a winter for us as well in eastern PA. I believe this will be storm #10 and were sitting bullseye for this Nor'easter.

Last weeks little ole 1/4" ice storm knocked out power a week to a lot of folks here and broke local Peco outage records. For us it worse than Hurricane Sandy,... with most respect to the peeps at the shore who lost everything...

I'm damn tired of removing snow!!!

For those that have electric water heaters, you can drink/use that tank water if necessary.

Just a FYI.

Now that you mentioned it I saw freshly trimmed trees under the power line adjacent to Hwy 50 on my way to break my Beretta this past Sunday.

Why aren't the power companies scanning the lines and cutting anything that overhangs them. I know it won't eliminate outages, but it seems like it would cut the numbers down pretty good.

True story; my friend worked at NOAA for YEARS, and anytime they started calling for a storm I'd ask her for info and she'd tell me to go watch whatever Bob Ryan on NBC said, because that's what they did in HER office.
