Sort of a stupid question.

How do you think it happens? A cop who was in the wrong and who felt himself above the law tried to set up an innocent person for his actions.

I used to tend bar in a place that had a lot of cops drink there. You would be both disgusted and amazed.

Conversely, bartenders are all stand up, good people.

Careful, a story about one cop doing something abhorrent is an attack on all cops.

Cop has been shown to be a liar and admitted it. Flush the turd and move on.

And fire his worthless ass before he bilks anyone for disability.

BIGGER question: How often does the DA "see the Blue
Line?"

Cop tried to cover his *ss by falsifying a Police report. Had one of us "civilians" done the exact same thing and end up filling a false Police report, we would be guilty of a class -A- felony and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

So....... notwithstanding him not being charged and prosecuted, will someone please tell me how this ijit still has a job as a Cop?!?

ugh.........

You'd find, if you open your eyes and ignore the rhetoric, most if not all of the legitimate cops here on GT would love to see every bad cop fry.... Once they've been shown to be a turd. This guy here.... You won't see anyone defend his dirty ass.

You should read the article and have less flair.

He is on leave. He has been since this all came out. He is moving to try and take a disability retirement. Presumably, since this article is written so well we must presume.... His career is done. Hopefully they yank his disability claim and he is working at a bar somewhere in a year.

Class A felony?

You watch too much T.V.

Even after the tests came back proving Weyker hadn't been drunk, and surveillance camera footage was released showing Quiles not stopping at the stop sign, the county still demanded that Weyker pay for damages from the accident.

It took five more months, but Weyker's case finally went to the DA's office, where a prosecutor decided not to file charges. No one bothered to call Weyker, however, just like no one bothered to reprimand Quiles for falsifying police reports (he admitted that he was at fault for the accident once the surveillance tape surfaced). More than a year later, Weyker is still waiting for the county to pay her expensive medical bills. Quiles hasn't worked since the crash, and — despite apparently suffering minimal harm in the crash he caused — has filed for permanent duty disability
There's a lot of stink to go around, and it's sure not limited to one stupid cop.

Not at all, but every bartender I know that broke the law wound up paying for it, whether it was a DWI, prison time or just a good old fashioned ass kicking. Can't say that for the cops that patronized the place I worked at.

I tried to delete my post, but I guess I was too late, so I will address...

These threads never last long, this is a fact... This thread is about the actions of one officer, not police in general, yet most of the time these threads get shut down due to what's considered "Cop Bashing".

By the way, instead of just replying with short, simple replies, try replying with substance. Explain why it's not, instead of simply replying "No, it's not" or "It is?"...

I'm sure. I'm also sure this article isn't an emotional editorial and based entirely on facts.

I'm also sure the county insurer has nothing to do with any of these delays.
