Take a regular sheet of 8.5 x 11 printer paper. Fold it in half. Half again, and then again. You will not be able to fold it more than seven times by halving.

For the last half century, the price of a slice of pizza and that of a subway ride have been nearly exactly the same. And a rise in one predicts the other.

Having no chance to call a plane and being the only doctor at the station “Novolazarevskaya”, at night, on April, 30th the surgeon removed his own appendix using local anesthesia. He was assisted by an engineer and the station’s meteorologist.

Dogs were used by the Soviet Union as anti-tank bombs during World War Two. Dogs were taught that food could been found under tracked vehicles. The dogs were kept hungry and with bombs attached, released to find approaching German tanks. A wooden lever would detonate the bomb on contact with the bottom of the tank. It was reported that over 300 German tanks were destroyed by anti-tank dogs.

It is physically impossible for you to lick your elbow. (go one, try it. I dare you!)
I'll bet the dogs didn't like that.

My former landlady's deceased husband was a member of the USAF Thunderbirds. He went on to fly combat missions over North Vietnam. Then he became a commercial airline pilot.

Strange.

How did a deceased guy make it through flight school?

Sony once sued itself. RIAA (partially controlled by Sony Music) sued Launch.com, which was owned by Sony’s Tech & Business unit. Basically the music department sued the tech department.

A human can theoretically survive on a diet composed only of potatoes and butter.

Hitler and Napoleon both were missing one testicle.

The names of Popeye's four nephews are Pipeye, Peepeye, Pupeye, and Poopeye

A quarter has 119 grooves on its edge, a dime has one less groove

During WWII, some trains in the UK would sound their train whistle as they approached a station in three short notes, followed by a longer forth note on a lower-toned horn. The ‘dot-dot-dot-dash’ of Morse Code they were signaling is the letter “V” which also was used as short code for the word “Victory.”

Didn't read every post but....no matter the size, you cannot fold a piece of paper in half more than 7 times.

My wife is always right! :-)

What more do you need to know!

He was alive when he did all that USAF stuff. He was (long?) dead before I ever rented from his widow.

I absolutely love this one.

Anatidaephobia: The fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you.

Somehow I imagine this is not a common phobia.
Along those lines. My dad was raised a strict Southern Baptist. He used to the the best way to describe the Southern Baptist mindset was, "living in constant fear that somewhere someone was about to have some fun".

Don't tell her she is wrong, but Mythbusters did more than 7 times; once up to 11.

In the Salem Witchcraft Hysteria, hundreds were accused of being witches. They were the Pilgrim type, religion was everything to them. To avoid the death penalty, all you had to do was to blame someone else for making you a witch (a lie, of course) but you were considered innocent because you recanted. The only people who died were the ones who refused to tell that lie. 19 hanged, 1 crushed with boulders.
