Crazy Weather

Well, the polar blast is blowing through my neck of the woods right now.

This morning, the temp was in the mid 60s and I was working in my yard wearing nothing heavier than a t-shirt.

Five hours later, the temp is 18 degrees with the wind chill factor around 0. I'm wearing more than just a t-shirt now.

We went from unseasonably warm to unseasonably cold in just a few hours. Abrupt changes in the weather is not uncommon around here, but this is nuts.
Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day.
Set a man on fire and he'll be warm the rest of his life.

It has been a very mild(cool) summer in Texas this year, so I am fully expecting a very cold winter.

This stuff is supposed to hit us tomorrow morning/afternoon.

Definitely one time I'm happy I live in Arizona. Stay warm....
The boys tell how old Pancho fell, and Lefty's living in cheap hotels. The desert's quiet, Cleveland's cold And so the story ends we're told.

In anticipation of a cold winter, I just finished replacing the insulation and siding on the north side of the house where the plumbing for the kitchen and laundry are located. I'm tired of having to turn the water off to the house every time we hit freezing or lower.

We got 15" of snow in less than 12 hours today. Crazy. Lots of accidents and cars in the ditches on the way home.

I'm ok with a day or two of polar air. But after tomorrow, we are in for over a week of 5-8 degrees below average. No Mas!

I was busy this past weekend taking out the dock out of the lake, covering up the well casement, sweeping leaves off the deck, covering all the patio furniture, etc.

There were 18" drifts around the yard. Took a while to shovel.

I'm glad I got everything done before the snow hit.
