Hurricane Odile

In an unusual twist of events, a hurricane is bearing down on....Arizona?

Yes folks, we've seen it all. Hurricane Odile is supposed to turn northeast towards Arizona and southwest New Mexico and be here Thursday. We just had some really heavy rain a week ago and now this. With the hard clay ground in much of south and central Arizona, this could create a lot of flash flooding.

My house handled the heavy rain last week like a champ, so I'm not terribly worried about my house. I've got to call Solar City though to see if my solar system will provide power to our house if the grid goes down.

We always get rain remnants. Last storm was the same. Nothing new during monsoons.

Looks like another fun week of commuting to and from work. Got stuck on the I-10 3 times last week, causing my normal 30-35 minute commute to turn into a real odyssey. ABC 15 has been reporting locations for sandbagging materials and my neighbor appears to be building an ark.

Obie? Like Officer Obie? Does he have the 8x10 glossy photos with the arrows and a paragraph on the back, too?
