Standing by for the people who are going to purposely click on the thread, enter and spend moments of their lives telling us that they will not buy the gun.

One of many reasons, the G42will be exported to South America where the .380 will be used by the huge civilian market, and Glock will own that marketshare.
The proven endurancs, reliability, acceptance of the design worldwide including police and military, and the same feel, trigger, etc. means success for the new G42.

Yes, the new Glock 42 .380ACP is a locked breech design.
"Internally, the pistol employs the same striker, short-recoil operated, locked-breech barrel and Safe-Action trigger system as its larger compatriots."

Glock 42 vs Glock 28

What's the difference between the two?
Why wouldn't Glock just make the 28 so that it's legal
in the US and change whatever it is that was illegal about it?
Glock 42 only has a magazine capacity of 6 rounds.
6 rounds of .380, who in the world will feel better
carrying that vs a 28.
Whereas the 28 has magazine capacity of 10 rounds.
Almost double the 42. Infinitely better when speaking
of .380's.

It was just illegal, because it didn`t have enough import points. The size is the same as the 26 and 27, but the .380 caliber didn't land it enough points to not be considered a "saturday night special". The 42 is a single stack model aimed at deep concealment or back up duty. It was produced here in Georgia, so no import restrictions at all. Glock could manufacture the 25 and 28 here and they would be legal, but the US market won`t drool over a Glock 26 sized gun with .380 ballistics.

Who's put money down on a G42?

Just bought mine, but have to wait a week or so till it comes in. Who else is taking the plunge? Also, who has ideas for holsters, etc?

I did--picking it up, along with the G41 on 1/20. It looks to be the same size as the Shield, so my Remora looks like it will work. I bought it for the subcompact Glocks originally, but it has worked well for the Shield and XD-S pistols as well.

Comp-Tac has some holsters ready for both of the new Glocks, so I'm sure I'll be ordering something from them.

The new 41 has its targets on the growing female market.

Where I bet it will be king.

Its easy to see that women will love the size and recoil and its going to be easy for guys to buy cause its a Glock .

I want to see one in person. G42 is bigger than Walther PPS and Kahr 9 & 40's I carry now and not much smaller than my G36.

Huh?

The whole selling pint (if there is one) of the G42 is the single stack design. Who wants a 380 the exact size of a G26 or G27?

You're completely missing the point even worse than Glock did.

A dealer nearby has one in hand for sale. Didn't think they were allowed to sell until the 20th
