It was better than the first one, and better (I think) than Iron Man 3.

It was good. I agree that it was better than the first one.

I'm afraid to. After seeing the trailers, I think I'd get kicked out of the theatre for uncontrollable laughter after seeing him walk around with that silly little hammer.

Surprisingly good. Better than the first Thor, Better than Iron Man 3. A serious contender for '2nd best' of the current Marvel series, behind The Avengers.

Like all these movies, it's fundamentally silly, but they do a pretty good job of not taking themselves too seriously, having some fun with the whole thing, etc. There's a million flaws you could get stuck on if you were so inclined, but I found myself having a good enough time I just didn't care.

My only complaint is that they kept Kat Dennings bundled up in a giant pile of wool the entire time, to hide the obvious fact that she's much much hotter than Natalie Portman.

Good flick, worth it for our family of four last Friday. We paid for 3D, because it was at the time we wanted, but you probably wouldn't be missing much if you went for the normal version.

That said, I'd probably be willing to pay again to see it in IMAX 3D, which is pretty unusual - only a modest number of flicks I'd pay to see again.

I agree with all of this, including that I also would probably pay to see it again.

Also there are TWO bonus scenes, one soon after the move ends and one at the end of the credits.

Not as light-hearted and cheery as the first one. Not as much fun, either. Good story, but it was rather like seeing one of the darker STTNG Movies.

Better than Iron Man3 or Captain America.

A couple storyline twists which are perhaps unpleasant, but will hopefully be gist for the next Thor installment (to explain their relevance and necessity).

It makes the Asgardians seem more human, and less alien or godlike. More character weaknesses, failings and general human-like traits.

I enjoyed the unexpected cameo. Fun & light-hearted moment. This movie could've used more of such moments. (The Avengers made great use of this device to keep the attention of the crowd.)

The bulk of the interesting secondary characters received rather short shrift this time.

I'll see it again, but hope for better in the third (last?) Thor installment planned after the second Avengers Movie.

I'm really hoping the second Captain America doesn't mire itself down in a dark, depressing place.

Thanks guys. It sounds like it was better than Iron Man 3 which was not great to me. I guess I will have to catch it this week in Imax. Thanks again because most say it is good that must mean it is good.

I thought it was a good movie. The only part I didn't care for was Kat Dennings. Every line they gave her was intended to be funny, but I found her more annoying than anything. She is basically the Jar Jar Binks of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It would have been easier to put up with if they didn't cover her chest.

I don't know. The character she plays on CBS shows off the girls much more, but it doesn't make her less annoying.

I also concur with those who liked Thor 2.

I liked it quite a bit though the levels of CGI destruction and world ending plots have escalated to the point where you wonder just what it takes to get the Avengers together in this world. The new Captain America looks to also have city shattering destruction. I would prefer some more intimate, personal stories but I guess if you are gonna drop 200 million on a movie you need to keep the stakes high and make it as international as possible. I figure for Avengers 2 they will flip over Australia or something. It is a weird arms race between Marvel movies and DC ones at this point.

I wasn't as keen on the portrayal of the Asgardians in this one. WAAAAY less omnipotent and powerful, quite frankly I think a conventional earth military battalion could take them (easily) with just a little air support and artillery.

Sif though, yowza! Poor Natalie is REALLY outclassed, Thor's infatuation with her is, by FAR, the most implausible part of this series :P

The pseudo-science speak made me cringe, but the movie was good.

Damn, Natalie Portman is always so HAWT!!!

I don't know if that's true or not but at least there's enough of her. I'm all for any actress able to succeed without the typical Hollywood physique. Well, the ones that are still hot anyway. Seems most are either twigs or big, fat, and obnoxious.
