Decision to make... Glock 30s

Folks,

Back in March i put a deposit down on a 30s, however 2 months ago I purchased one from another store. The 30s I have on order is due to come in this week.

So my question is; should I buy a second 30s or go with a different model? So far I have a 30s and a 19. And I like both.

Also, I only own 9mm and 45 calibers to keep streamlined.

Thoughts?

If I was you, I'd get a 21 at this point or maybe a 26.

Depends on what you need out of another gun. I'm assuming the 30S is your new carry gun?

Were it me, I'd get a G21. The 30S can use the mags, it'll have a very similar feel in the grip, and is just a sweet shooter.

But it ultimately depends on what purpose you have for the gun. I would go with a full size regardless, since you've got the compacts covered.

I carry my 19, but will end up carrying the 30s once I get a holster for it. Also been considering a 20 for when I go camping or hog hunting.

26 is also grabbing my attention... Is there a big size difference vs the 19 when carrying concealed?

Thx

The 26 is just a little easier to carry... If you're sensitive to grip length (as in, grip length is what determines whether or not you can conceal the gun easily), then the 26 is going to be a lot more convenient. I carry my 26 a lot more than my 19.

You might want to try the 30S in one of your model 19 holsters, I have heard they fit.

Is the one you put a deposit on a blue label? I'm one month into my one YEAR wait for a 30s at my lgs. If I pay the shipping............I guess there's really no way to do it. It's all Obama's fault!

It took 2 days for my LGS to get a 30S for me from their distributor.

G21 hands down; mag compatability with your 30S, and a great full sized platform. Probably one of the best full sized .45's going.

I envy you. My lgs IS the distributor for El Paso. Most all the 30s' I see on Gunbroker are Central and South East coast. Seems like some places get shipments much faster. LGS just got notice they'll be receiving an order from April.

I talked to GSSF and they had me calling all the way to East TX (700+ miles) and couldn't locate one. Wasted my money joining GSSF. Clarification: GSSF is great if you're in the right location. I'm not.

I ordered mine through Lou's Police Supply. They are one of the biggest, if not biggest, Glock distributors in South Florida and when they order models they order in large quantities. So it's not like they order 5 at a time, it's more like 50+... Im thinking their quantity on order is what is causing the backorder.

I was thinking the same but without proof didn't want to accuse. Lgs complains that they can't sell Glocks if they can't get them, and looking in their display case I saw less than half the models Glock makes.

I asked GSSF if they had some dealer I could buy through if the local distributor cant get stock. The just started listing stores at the opposite end of Texas again. I even called NM and AZ with no luck.

So the dealer can't get stock, so they can't sell guns. If they can't get guns to sell, people buy other brands, and the dealer can't place a large order. El Paso has over 600,000 people, and I see EPPD wearing Glock 20's. But getting Glocks for civilians is hit or miss.

A G34 is also something to look into. If you want anther 45 ACP, I'd go with a G21.

Interesting ideas. Will have to check those out. I've focused on the 30s after seeing comments that it fits the same holsters as a 19. I have a 19 as my edc, but would like to have another weapon to alternate with. Elderly and disabled are targeted for the drugs we have, and I want to be able to defend myself (I've lost about 50% muscle mass permanently to muscular dystrophy). Target practice has become my therapy and primary pastime.

I like the 30 too. Have seen and handled one, but again, no blue labels available here. LGS has me on list for a 30 or a 30s. This will be an EDC gun. Guess I'll haunt my LGS and see if anything else works for me.

21 looks interesting, but for concealed carry? Guess I'm going to take a look see at all the .45 autos compared to my current 19.

The 19 gen 4 works well for me, but I want to have a second gun for edc. I have access to cheap 45 auto ammo, my bud has a 45 I enjoy when I can get it away from him.

I like the idea of a full size range/house gun with a compact model for carry. The 21 is great for practice, drills, matches. The 30s would be great for carry and allow you to use 21 mags for back up if needed. My brother in law does this with his 22/27.

The 19/23 is a great mid size do it all gun, but it could be said it is a jack of all trades/master of none deal. (Yes, I know "Beward of the man with one gun" saying and kind of agree!)

Maybe a different model Glock (I like the G26 best of the Glocks for concealed carry) or maybe (wait for the blasphemy) something entirely different from a Glock. Maybe a 1911 or a revolver.

You mentioned you might be interested in a g20 that's the rt I would go for use as a woods/hunting gun. You can't go wrong with a 10mm glock!
