Phoenix kick lite stock on a Maverick 88...

I was looking to make the M88 a bit more "fun" to shoot. I bought one of the recoil absorbing (spring-loaded) pistol grip Phoenix kick-lite stocks for it. Took it to the range yesterday and ran 12 rounds of bird shot through it. Ouch!!.

Got a little bit of cheek slap (not as much as I did with a previous Knoxx stock), the pistol grip was painfully slamming against the web of my hand and my shoulder was jacked up enough that I had to take a couple of advil when I got home.

I'm wondering if I was just tired and didn't have a good grip on it or if I just need to turn in my man card

All of the reviews I could find of it were pretty positive.

Hate to return the thing to my small local dealer, but at this point I can't afford to eat $90 either. Looks like I'm more than likely going to reinstall the factory stock with the limbsaver after I get a second opinion.

Anyone else have any experience with this stock on a M88?

Thanks,

GregB

Your store lets you try out stocks and return them if you don't like them?

Not sure what his return policy is, but I'm hoping that he'd be flexible if not, I'll list the sucker but I'm waiting for a second opinion after someone else shoots it first.
