Had a British pattern FAL not the Israeli. The reason I no longer have it aside from the weight of it was the only bullet weights that I got any degree of accuracy from were 180 gr.,couldn't get decent accuracy from 148 gr. ball. SJ 40

It'll have sand cuts in the receiver or bolt (don't remember which).

Israel had a lot of FALs, but 90 countries used FALs. The odds of you finding an Israeli one for sale is low.

Probably an item that will be hard to find at a local shop.

Gunbroker is great. If it wasn't for GB, I wouldn't own many of the rare items I do.

You'll find plenty of Israeli kit guns and other kits with Israeli furniture.

If you find an SBL, Armscor, or Onyx imported Israeli FAL, it's going to cost $$$$$.

Go to FALFiles.com and check the marketplace, they show up now and then. You need to join the website but it doesn't cost anything. That exact rifle Hickok45 was using belongs to one of the members over there.

You can buy a metric kit-get a receiver and Israeli furniture and put one together.

I forgot to add in my first post that that's a Israeli light barrel rifle and not as common as other versions. I suggest you should look for one built from the Argentine kits Sarco was selling. They were brand new kits. Their are many different types of FALs and everyone seems to have their favorite, mine is the Australian L1A1.

The Cheapest way now is probably to buy a Century thumbhole stock version and rebuild it. They are usually good parts and if you get one with a Argentine or Imbel receiver they are some of the best receivers you can buy. Just get the headspace checked before you shoot it.
Other than that as I said go to FalFiles and check in the marketplace. You can buy a complete rifle cheaper than you can buy a parts kit and build it right now. There was a nice Argy for sale over there the last time I checked.

An authentic Israeli FAL is pretty cool to have. They were imported back in the mid1980s. Since that they were IDF guns, most of them were quite well used.

I like the funky wooden furniture, different iron sights, but the sand cut bolt left me indifferent.
