The Okie Corral

And this was her reply to those nay-sayers:
“I'm sorry you took an image and resonated with it in such a negative way. I won't go into details that I struggled with my genetics, had an eating disorder, work full time owning two businesses, have no nanny, am not naturally skinny and do not work as a personal trainer,” she wrote, in part. “What I WILL say is this. What you interpret is not MY fault. It's yours. The first step in owning your life, your body and your destiny is to OWN the thoughts that come out of your own head. I didn't create them. You created them. So if you want to continue ‘hating’ this image, get used to hating many other things for the rest of your life.”

Oh, and she watches no tv. While at the park with her kids she also exercises instead of planting her face into the keyboard of a smartphone.
Back on topic for page 7....I like her attitude....

That's a myth. Some do and some don't. The reason all men aren't built like Arnold in his prime is because we don't have the genetics for it. Can you bench 500 lbs? Why not? It's not lack of discipline.

Competition inspires backstabbing, throat cutting, vanity, wars, and all sorts of things that are detrimental to our society. Competition and teamwork are polar opposites. Competitive people don't take one for the team. They try to make someone else take one for them. If we were more cooperative and less competitive we wouldn't be as divided as we are. When you divide everyone into winners and losers, you always have a lot more losers. Losers get angry and change the rules so they can be winners. It's a self destructive mindset.

I do not see what the anger is about.
You don't see any vanity of condescension in Ms Kang's statement? Her message is that if the rest of you were as worthy as me you would be as beautiful as me.

Look at the societies that have tried to squash competition. How did they turn out?

No, her message is, "If the rest of you worked as hard as I have, you would be as beautiful as me."

Nonsense.

Did you ever play team sports?
Anybody that did has taken one for the team BECAUSE they are competitive AND cooperating. The player that looks out for himself over the team isn't more competitive, he's just a self serving idiot that won't be on the team next year, and won't be there to win the championship.

Losers make excuses, even if the winners didn't show up, they would still be losers because it's a mindset that turns into a self fulfilling prophesy.

Once again this is absurd.

Losers cant change the rules. The people changing the rules are the winners, how else can it possibly work?

And again, no matter what level you can actually make it to, everyone with a pulse and the ability to think can improve themselves.

Just an excuse, I'm sure many would hate me even if I wasn't so handsome.

I don't think her message is about beauty, it is about being fat.

She's asking you, me, women, men, what your excuse is for being fat.

Many of them do quite well and are happier than the people in the U.S. A team will always outperform an individual.

I'd like to spread butter all over her and see if it would melt. As a purely academic exercise, of course.

And she is looking out for the team. She's saying, "come on America, you've got a fat problem and you are dying of obesity related diseases and living horrible lives in spite of your wealth. If I can work hard to get rid of my fat, even with 3 kids, then so can you."

See, she's a team player. A leader. An inspiration.

The haters just want the team to fail, be fat, and fail.

Really? Then what happened to Louis XVI, Nicholas II, William II? I'm pretty sure those on the loosing end of society changed the rules. How did Obama get reelected? I'm pretty sure it was by people that many in here would call losers demanding a change in the rules so they could stop losing and start wining. As Bob Dylan said,

Quote:
The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.
Of course you will insist that the current rules are sacred and changing them will cause unmitigated disaster for everyone. That's always the argument and it always fails. The rules have been in constant change since we first walked upright. They'll still be changing when no one remembers our names.

I kind of have to agree w/ muscogee's point...

No amount of dieting, weightlifting, supplements, etc... will ever turn me into a fit and sexy Asian woman.

Which is too bad, really.

I'd hit that like the fist of an angry god...

I work out 4-5 times a week lifting, some yoga, some cardio, etc.

The only thing I would say about this woman is its hard to stay in the shape she appears to be in.

I refuse to be a slave to my body. This morning for breakfast I had three bowls of Captain Crunch. While I like working out, am definitely in the best shape of my life today at 44, I just hope staying in the shape she appears to be in doesn't take time away from her kids or other things which are more important.

But I'm sorry...that is one fine looking honey. Haters hate all you want, make all the excuses you want...she is fit..you are not.
