Been away for a bit

I've been away from here for a bit. Some because I've had other things to do, but one reason in particular for the past month and a half or so.

Long story short, my Father has a pretty rare, large and aggressive cancer in his chest. He started his 2nd round of chemo today, and had his 14th or 15th of 33 radiation treatments. Other than being tired, and losing hair, he seems to be holding up OK.

He was diagnosed on his 73rd birthday, the day before their 49th wedding anniversary. Most likely the last.

I've not posted about this anywhere else, including FB. The people that need to know, do.

That being said, I'll pop in from time to time, when I need a break from reality. Gonna try and spend as much time as I can with him.

Cancer has many sides. Not all in the know, agree traditional western treatment is the way to go.

Personaly, I would never let anyone pump those poisons into me, there are other, possibly better, treatments.

Find a holistic doctor. Some regions call them naturopath.

If you go to a brick layer, he will tell you to brick your house. A chemotherapy doctor will always tell you, you need chemotherapy.

We treated my wife with stage four cancer without cancer treatments in doctors offices. They sent her a certified letter sayingvshevwould be dead in three months. That was fifteen years ago.

PM me if you want to talk more.

Best wishes for your Dad.

Enjoy and CHERISH every second you can with your dad, Deke!

Been there, done that.

Take as many pictures with your heart as you spend time with him. No one can take that away from you.

It's been 20 years ago since Cancer took my precious daddy from us. He was 62. 3 and 1/2 weeks from diagnosis to his death.

I'm SO sorry that you have to go through this! It is the hardest thing I've had to do so far in my life!

You are very much in my thoughts and prayers, Deke! May God wrap his loving arms around you, and grant you and your family a peace that passes ALL understanding!

Spend as much time as you can, we will be praying on this end. I heard someone the other day say that God is still in the miracle business and I hope and pray for one for you and your family Deke. God's Peace.

Spend time with your dad, Deke. And you know I'm here, and local, if you need anything, right?

sorry to hear about your dad's condition, to quote you "Most likely the last" looks like you are giving up, never do that, support your dad and do what the Doctors recommend, I'm a Pancreatic cancer survivor and I wasn't expected to make it.

I was diagnosed in Dec 2009 with only 5% survival rate and here I'm, but I followed with the Chemo and Radiation and finally Wipple procedure, best wished to your dad and prayers going your way, miracles do happen, stay positive.

I've got nothing prolific to say, brother, other than your family shall be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the support, it means a lot.

Shallnotbeinfringed, if my Dad is open to it, I'll contact you.

ca survivor, I have not given up, nor has he, but after being in healthcare 23+ years, I am realistic. I have seen miracles happen, and been an active participant in miracles. While I hope and pray for one, I know they are all too rare. Thank you for the support all the same.
