Glock 29 holster fit in smaller frame holsters?

Title pretty much sets it. If I get a 29 vs using my 27 for CC will I need new holsters? I am debating on getting a king tuk that states it can do anything from the 22 down. Doesnt list the 30 or 29 though. I also am wanting a single clip like a triton

I have a Fobus for a Glock 20/21. My 29SF will not fit in it because the nose of the gun has too much mass. I can push it in, but it is almost impossible to pull it out. So it seems kind of unlikely that it will fit in a holster for the 27, unless it is a very loose holster. JMO.

my M-Tac will fit my 23, and my 30. the only thing is when I looked inside the holster with the gun in I could see the holster wasn't contacting the slide where it should. so I ordered a Crossbread Supertuck for the 30.

Definitely get a holster made for the 29...

How do you carry? I have been extremely pleased with my JM Custom Kydex AIWB holster - I use it with both my G20 and G29. I also had surprisingly good results with the Raven Concealment Vanguard 2.

I have noticed the size difference finally handling a gen 4 29. Had I done this previously I would not have asked the question. I can imagine a 27 fitting losely in a holster made for a 29 though. I think holsters that would be good for that are the "one size fits all holsters" I have had mixed luck with those. I just recently put my hands on a raven concealment holster and had mixed feelings about them. Prior to that it was not something I felt like gambling money and waiting on.

My ideal holster would be a kydex front and nylon back. I like the Desantis Tuk This II for its soft padding and I dont sweat in it much. The retention is horrible. Although I hung upside down on some monkey bars and it stayed put so?

In my experience, the 29 will fit the holster for a 30, but it is bigger than the sub-compact, 26/27/33, and holster for those probably will be too small for it.

My 29 fits fine in the Kirkpatrick Leather holster that I bought for my 1911 several years back! My 20 also works well in this holster! I carry IWB everyday and it is nice to not have to change holsters if I change guns!:

im sure there is somebody out there, but I have never know anybody to be happy with a one size some holster.... me thinks you will be happier with one made for that specific gun.

you might want to look down into the holster with the gun inside. my G30 will fit my Mtac but looking down into the holster I can see where the kydex rubs the slide in the wrong spot. it will work but may also wear the finish on the slide much quicker. that why I just bought a CBST for the 30.

The title unfortunately doesn't pretty much say it all. A 29 holster fitting into a smaller frame holster? WTH?

yes? I didn't feel like the question was an unsual one. Considering there are people saying they have holsters that work and some that do not I got answers out of it?

I don't know about a 29 fitting into a 27 holster, but a 29 fits perfectly in a G20 Comp-Tac C-TAC holster. I think a 26 fit in it pretty we'll, too, so a 27 should as well. The only downside is the extra length of the G20 holster, but the extra length (about an inch) really doesn't affect concealability or comfort that much.

I'm kind of curious as to why you would want to carry a 27 if you have a 29? I don't think the small amount of weight difference and size offsets the better ballistics of the 10mm.

I agree lol. I will be getting a 20 actually and chopping down to 29 length. I was curious when I posted this If I could use the king tuk or wait and get a new holster with the new gun. I wish I could conceal a 20 but I am a smaller guy and living in Texas weather leaves me to dressing in shorts and a t shirt and even during winter. I can conceal a 23 but anything longer handled then that would create an issue for me. As this will double as a hunting gun. Chopping will give me a CCW and still availability of using larger mags with a sleeve.

I will also say before I posted this I could not find a G20 or a G29 to hold ANYWHERE since then with consistent looking I have done both. I can honestly say I have never held a better pistol than a Gen 4 Glock 20 as of now.
