Is this the thread where I can reply to all those closed threads, too??? I've got some mega-funny replies that may or may not make sense here.

I just replied to a thread without reading all of it. "What is your state worst at?"

I read the original post and then posted what I think my state is worst at. I don't need to read the entire thread to post what I think.

Sometimes, if you want to be in the 'discussion' of a thread, it's good to read the entire thread. Other times, it doeasn't matter - you just want to add your two cents.

OP: I think you should pack up your crap and move out of the house ASAP. Then lawyer up. With regard to your soon-to-be-ex mother-in-law losing her dentures in your underwear drawer - well, that's just payback for her daughter's habit of videotaping herself with all that peanut butter.

Typical GT thread analysis:

Page 1: quick knee jerk comments and/or jokes

Pages 2-3: more well thought out reactions, some lengthy

Pages 4-5: arguments against the well thought out replies. The thread splits into opposing camps that wages war against each other. Also, a few new responses from people that are late to the thread.

Pages 6+: at this stage, the original subject of the thread has been overshadowed by tangential arguments, usually about politics or religion or 9mm vs .45. If it's not locked yet, it could get epic, but most epic threads degenerate into one of a few basic catagories.

And the problem is?

I have been called on the carpet for not reading the entire thread before. So what. A guy starts a thread and within ten posts it has been hijacked. I have no problem just bypassing pages of off topic banter and giving the OP an answer or opinion.

I have my own opinion so why should I read what others have to say?
