New addiction:American Horror story.

Like I needed more to keep me awake

No spoilers past the first couple episodes of season 2 (asylum) please, but lets discuss! Love it? Hate it? Wanna see more Dylan McDermott and Adam levine than you ever thought possible? (Wait, maybe that's just me).

It looks really good. Are the first two seasons on NetFlix? I saw the trailer and it looked interesting.

If you like that sort of stuff, the new show on Fox, Sleepy Hollow premiered on Monday and it was pretty good in my opinion.

I just finished season 2 on Netflix. No storyline spoilers, but a list of overall observations:

There are a lot of actors/actresses from season 1 in season 2 (although they play different characters).

As opposed to the straightforward ghost story of season 1, season 2 has a lot going on.

I particularly enjoyed the dynamic of James Cromwell's character (Dr. Arden).

I thought season 1 was great. Watched the first episode of Season 2 and it sucked - haven't watched one since.

BTW, if you like that, you might want to checkk out Hemlock Grove on Netflix. I believe it's a Netflix exclusive and a pretty good show.

The few episodes of season 1 I've watched were great. I need to set my DVR to record the show.

That's interesting. I thought i'd automatically hate season 2, but ao far I'm loving it. I really just wanted to get it over with so I could get into series 3 without feeling like I missed anything ( even though I know they totally stand alone). There are a are a few loose ends/plot holes in season 1 that bugged me, but I feel like they will have more keeway with all the crazy stuff this season.

Smart move. I too really liked season 1. I struggled through season 2 thinking it would get better, finally bailed about half way through. I guess it doesn't help that I think Jessica Lang is one of the worst actresses on the planet.

Oh, and FYI Dylan McDermott is not in season 2.

See, that's funny, I think Jessica Lange is fabulous, even if her characters are weird/annoying sometimes.

Also, I totally loved the Bettlejuice vibe at the end of season 1, but my daughter said that episode was the scariest to her, and she has a much higher scare tolerance tgan me usually!

I enjoyed Seasons 1 and 2. While Asylum kind of pushed the boundaries of suspension of disbelief I still liked it. Really enjoyed James Cromwell.

I'm looking forward to Season 3 starting in October - just saw some commercials for it. So far, I like the way they recycle some of the same actors into different roles.

Concur. Season One was great! I watched all of Season Two, but it sucked donkey balls. I am hopeful for Season 3. Bren is right: Hemlock Grove on Netflix is pretty good. Kind of reminds me of Twin Peaks meets Twilight, without all the gay vampires of Twilight.

I got a lot of them recorded for my daughter ... Never saw one myself, but if all you folks like it, maybe I'll give it a look ....

I loved season 1 and 2. I think I liked season 2 better.

Fantastic acting all around. Jessica Lange, Zach Quinto, James Cromwell and others who's names I don't know. Kit and the nun... Great.

Mrs. VR - it's very tough to discuss without leaking spoilers!

Mucho suspension of disbelief required, but it's quite the roller coaster ride if you are able.

That's actually the plan for the series. It's going to be an anthology series, with every season telling a different story, completely unrelated to the prior stories but with as many returning cast members as are willing to return. Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, and Sarah Paulson are all three returning for the next season (which starts right around my birthday!).

I really liked "Asylum", but I do think it was weaker than the first season. It had some great moments, but the overall story was just weaker.

I love the fact that the teaser/TV spots are nearly as good as the shows themselves:

Really enjoyed season 1. Not perfect, but good. Loved the morning after Halloween.

Like that season 2 was very different. A different 'horror' altogether. IMO there is too much going on and some of it sort of gets lost, but still a good show.

I enjoy how they are telling different stories each season. That they will not wandering off into the absurd to keep a show going for years. Each season will begin and end and be done. Like that a lot.

I'm like most. Really liked season 1, suffered through season 2. Have high hopes for season 3. Third season always seems to be the roughest for the shows I like. Maybe they'll break out of that box.
