Brought home a new to me G19 FDE today

Brought home a new to me Gen4 G19 FDE today. Local guy had bought it but polymer isn't his thing so he put it up for sale. He says he put about 800 rounds through it... when I took off the slide to inspect it I would've thought he only put 8 rounds through it. I'm hoping to get to the range tomorrow to test it out and get some pics for you all.

I was just trying out the backstraps and I think I like the Medium +2mm strap. The large +4mm was uncomfortable for me.

This is my first Glock, my first striker fired pistol, and my first polymer pistol. Prior to this I only owned a Beretta 92A1 (my first gun) which I bought new a few years ago. Any tips on my first Glock or the transition between shooting the 92A1 to the G19?

Tips:
1. Buy lots of ammo
2. Buy more magazine
3. More Glocks will find their way to your home, watchout for your wallet.
4. Enjoy one of the best Glock

#3 is what I've been scared of. I'm already looking for deals on more mags. Where can I get the best prices? I would prefer factory new.

Congrats on your G19! Yeah, you really want to stick with factory mags.

Thanks. The guy I bought the gun from had more mags for sale but he was asking $35 each for used mags. As you pointed out above I knew I could find new ones for less online.

Yeah, I would have passed on his spares as well. But, there is nothing wrong with buying used mags, if the price is right.

Put about 100 rounds through it at the range tonight. Love the gun but I need to get out to shoot more often, my trigger finger is killing me!

CONGRATS! I also have one & the only FDE in my collection! However, it's also the one- of all my glocks, that the wifey likes! She likes it because of the FDE color, & now considers it hers!

Great choice! The Gen 4 19 is a soft shooting, accurate weapon and the FDE looks good too.
