Who is running a conversion barrel in a G29?

Looking at dropping down to 40 s&w in my G29 for cheaper ammo. Anyone run a conversion barrel? What brand and any issues?

Thanks!

There as many against it as there are for it, but I shoot 40 out of my G29 stock and LWD 4.6" barrels. The only thing different is I pull out the barrels and make sure the chambers are clean during my range session.

I think most that are against it have never done it,
they are just dribbling the kool-aid from others.

I think I have 18 LW barrels and not eveything is perfect
but most work great with ammo that is in spec.

My latest is a 9mm barrel for the g20, haven't shot it yet,
need a lighter rsa.

I agree, I shoot 40S&W out of my stock G29 and G20 all the time. The rounds headspace on the stout Glock extractor, the round doesn't know it is isn't in a 40S&W chamber.

My lightest 40 loads will cycle fine, even with my 22lb ISMI spring I use on my Gen 3 G20, but the cases on the lighter loads do fall pretty close. On the G29, everything stock, the lightest 40 loads all the way up to nuclear 10mm are fed through the same unmodified gun, I think that is what they call Glock perfection.

As vaquero points out, I take a good bore brush to the 10mm chamber after shooting 40 to get any carbon buildup out, not unlike when you shoot 38spl out of a 357M.

Great info! Thank you all.

How is the accuracy when shooting the 40 out of the stock G20/29? I read somewhere that it effects the bullet shape.

I have noticed no difference in accuracy. I have a KKM 10-40 conversion barrel for my G20 and have tested it against the stock G20 barrel and did not see any difference in performance, except the stock barrel feeds flawlessly, where I have had a few glitches with the KKM (a little tighter chamber).

After the above experience, I never bothered to buy a conversion barrel for my 29.
