Walther Arms is coming to Fort Smith

Wow. Good news for the job force here. Walther is going to start manufacturing guns here, just a mile down the road from me place too.
After Whirlpool pulled a NAFTA move this year to Mexico, we could use the jobs.
Last year Mitsubishi's multi million dollar plant never opened due to a lawsuit claiming they infringed on GE's Windmill technology. They were geared up to make the big windmills and now the plant is vacant.
Looking forward to Walther setting up shop here. We had an open carry walk here a couple of weeks ago, right by the site that Walther is moving to. Our AG thinks open carry is illegal, but there have been 2 walks now in 2 counties with the blessing of the DA and PD in those counties.

I knew that they had an office/import/repair station there, but I have seen nothing to the effect that they are going to MANUFACTURE guns there. Any concrete proof of this? Link?

Cool. I'll have to keep an eye out for them hiring. I might accept a job with them and move to Fort Smith.

I haven't had the time to try and keep up on this, but last I heard, I thought Walther was creating that company so they could finally import their German guns for themselves.

A previous public statement said that S&W was going to continue to make the PPK series for Walther's US sales.

Be that as it may, I'm also glad to see the company establish a US presence and hire/employ American workers.

Yaup, I'm local here up in Bentonville. I had read about this some time ago but forgotten.

Very cool, for sure.

I like walthers but can't seem to shoot them well. Might have to work on that to support the local economy!
