Baby Glock 26's are the Best CCW 9mm Option!

It's just so ideal for carry, capacity, & shootability! I do indeed carry my G27 quite a bit during these last DOG DAYS of Summer...But my 2 Glock Gen4 26's get a lot of carry time as well. Sometimes with GAP Plates, +2 Glock OEM plates, or with Pearce +0's... It's just a weight and size efficient envelope!!

It's hard to best 12+1 with +2 Glock OEM baseplates that still keep the gun MORE CONCEALABLE than either of my G19's!

Let's hear it for a Modern Marvel of Engineering...

The Glock 26!

Most of the time, I agree, but IWB a Walther PPS is more comfortable. But you are right, at the sacrifice having more rounds.

I definitely prefer the 9mm over the 40, I'll say that much anyway.

just bought a Gen 4 G27. It is big as hell. I will open carry in TN, however...

G26/G27 are not pocket guns to me...

I used to feel the same way about carrying my G26/27 until I bought a Kahr PM9 and PM40. Much easier, more comfortable to carry, and much slimmer.

With the +2 floorplate, it's about the size of a G19. Doesn't make sense to buy a subcompact pistol and make the grip longer by adding +2's, might as well just carry a G19.

You really can't beat a Glock 26/27 for every day carry.

I have found my way back to Glock subcompact pistols for carry.....after screwing around with many other designs!

Those who are comparing the G26/27 to a Kahr or similar single stack design......NOT the same type of pistol.
Yes, you might be more "comfortable" carrying a thinner pistol, but let us go to a range and draw and fire from concealment to target......with a reload thrown in!

The G26/27 platform works so well because it "fights" like a full size gun, but the stubby grip frame makes it disappear under a simple tee shirt.

G26/27 RULE for CCW!
Carry Issues

Good summation. Agree, shoots like a much bigger gun.
Would I like a slimmer slide? Yeah I would. That would really make Perfection.

M&P 9C

The specs are extremely close and you get 12 rounds instead of 10. It comes with different backstraps that you can change if necessary depending on your hand size. The M&P also comes 2 mags; 1 flat base and 1 w/pinky extension. Like the G26, you can use the full size M&P mags as well, to give you a 17rd capacity.

G26
Length 6.29
Width 1.18
Height 4.17
Capacity 10+1

M&P 9C
Length 6.7
Width 1.18
Height 4.3
Capacity 12+1

I'm in total agreement with 2740DMX and a few others ... this is far and away the best weapon for me as a CC gun. In a world of compromise, the one thing I WON'T compromise is reliability and the G26s that I have owned through the years have NEVER missed a beat with any kind of ammunition under any conditions (including sub zero temps and desert heat).

After nearly 10 years of experimenting with lots of Glocks, I finally settled on a Gen 4 Model 26 as my only gun ... no ARs, no shotguns, no revolvers ... just a tried and true G26. It's the most accurate Glock for me and I can carry it concealed so many ways that smaller, less reliable guns are unnecessary: Galco Second Amendment 95% of the time with a +2 Glock base plate or a GAP plate, either untucked or tucked shirt; Smart Carry with a reload with tucked shirt for more formal occasions the other 5%.

It's a great tool for defense of one's self and one's family and friends in an uncertain world, that's for sure.

I second that emotion. Sums it up.
Reliability first and foremost. Not even a close second.

Wifey and I switched to Glocks for EDC 1 1/2 years ago. Her's a G26 and a G30 for me. I had been "stealing" hers for carry and finally got myself one. I really like it and with the Glock OEM +2 pinky rests it's my EDC!

My favorite Glock and all around handgun is the G17, well ah...G17L actually.

However, my EDC 24/7/365 is a G26. So OP, I agree with you.
