I never realized that the rear sights on my wifes G19 is made out of plastic ???? for what I paid for that G19 they use plastic? How do I get this fixed under warranty ? It's only 4 months old

Time to upgrade to night sights.

Or see you local gun store, they may have a few laying around and be willing to help ya out for next to nothing...?

Not worth the time, trouble & mailing expense to contact Glock about warranty work.

It's not only your rear sight, but your front sight as well. IMO, it's now time to switch to a good set of steel sights. I suspect the majority of Glock owners do.

isn't this something that should be covered under the warranty being it's only been 4 months? If I have a problem with one of my SA's Springfield sends me a return label so why should it cost me more then a gunsmith to repair? The dealer told me I can send it back to Glock and pay them for the night sights and they would install them under warranty and all I pay for is the part.

NOOOOO!!! They make the frame out of plastic? Wow they must be junk. Next you will tell me "it cost more than I make in a month" and it can pass through airport metal detectors.

Glock knows that the vast majority of owners could care less as long as there are some type of sight. The rest will change out the sights for either CCW or competition. As well, no matter what they do many will complain that they don't like it. First thing I do on a Glock is change out the sights. It's far easier on a Glock than many other guns, e.g., 1911 with no dovetails cut.

Now that you are focused on the gun, you might notice lots of realestate on your Glock is polymer. Check it out if you have a minute.

Here's What I Did...

Pair the steel Glock Rear Sight available here:

http://glockparts.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=6635&CAT=742

With AmeriGlo's Steel White Dot Front Sight available here:

I'm sorry, I just can't get past the idea that you didn't know the stock sights are polymer. Seriously though, night sights are a great suggestion.

the ones that can pass through airport metal detectors are made of ceramic, the Glock 7, and it cost more than you can make in a year.
