i think he'll get manslaughter. that is why they put it on the table. they couldn't get 2nd degree, so any conviction will do. it won't be justice, but i think there is pressure from several places to get some kind of conviction.

I would have added 'hung jury" since it is a distinct possibility

I say he walks. No way the state proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

If it's a hung jury, I wonder if the State will just walk away from retrying it. Do they have that option or do they have to retry it?

Will the SA just admit they have no case?

The prosecution did not prove anything. Period.

Aquitted. He walks!

Of course, I was shocked when Casey Anthony was aquitted.
Dumbfounded was more like it!

It depends. "Rule of Law" or "Rule of Mob". There is a lot of pressure from people that don't understand what makes a shooting justified. Ive heard "He shouldn't have been following the kid" too many times. Like a 17 year old is any less dangerous that an 18 year old when he's beating you repeatedly about the head.

I think it's up to the state if it's a hung jury. That said, I'm almost 100% sure they would try to convict him again.

I personally think it was self defense, but I voted Manslaughter, because it's so obvious that this case had nothing to do with justice. It was forced by a puppeteer...

I voted manslaughter but suspect a hung jury is a likely possibility.

Aquitted. The jury hasn't been contaminated by the political pressure and will come to a verdict based on the (lack of) evidence.

The prosecution proved nothing. This case has reasonable doubt written all over it. But that is what happens when you are forced to try a weak case to satisfy the politics of the situation.

When I think back to the OJ trial, and the Casey Anthony Trial, I think that the obvious can be overlooked. Unfortunately, I think he's gonna end up in a prison cell, and that's a shame. Should he have gotten out of the vehicle, probably not. But when I think about someone slamming my head on concrete, I would have pulled the trigger too, if possible. Everyone zeroing in on little injury to Zimmerman's head, just takes me back to Natasha Richardson...Hit her head on snow, no visible signs of injury at all, and she died from it.

What I voted a what I feel are 2 different things. When the judge gave into the prosecution, to give the jury options, that weren't the original charges, that was done for a purpose. I feel that was done, to try to get a convicition of some kind.

I feel that if the only choice the jury had, was 2nd degree murder, it would be a sure acquittal. The state didn't prove anything to get a guilty verdict on 2nd degree murder.

There should neve have been a trial in the first place. If the govenor wuld have not caved to the hollering and screaming and appoinated a special prosecutor the trial wouldn't have happened. The local police and prosecutor, weren't even going to take it to a grand jury.

I think if convicted, there will be a good case on appeal, for the case to be overturned. There was no indictment of Zimmerman, by a grand juy.

I voted acquittal. I think there is a distinct chance for a hung jury... but I don't think there will be a conviction.
