Here is a link to Okie's eulogy by his older brother Ron on FaceBook:

https://www.facebook.com/mark.reimer1?fref=ts

It will double as an obit and lists two services for Mark. I will therefore not be writing one. Ron mentioned to me via PM that he knew little of his brother's life business after he relocated to Oklahoma.

The man I knew intimately, was different from the GT Okie you guys know. There are others who knew him in this manner as well.
I'm gonna leave well enough alone. What I have to say would make you guys laugh until it hurts but would get me banned or my post deleted. He was a fun guy in real life.

Let's remember him in our own ways. It's perfect so far.

I am in touch with Mark's cousin and they are reading this thread. Please do not use this thread to criticize any family decisions that may or may not be taken, it is their business to do as they see fit.

I was asked by Mark's cousin to post this, although it's already been said in several places:

F.Y.I. Mark died on the operating table as doctors were trying to remove a blood clot. I guess it got away from them. The tumor had NOT been a contributor. A previous post made it sound as though the tumor got him. Just wanted to clear this up.

I will find out where our friend is being interred, maybe some of us can visit him when we get time and pay our respects in person over the next year or so.

I just hung up the phone from talking with Mark's SIL and she wanted me to pass on "from the family" their deepest feelings of gratitude for the outpouring of love and affection that GT is showing through your posts. They also offer their condolences for "our" loss. That's verbatim.

Scott, thank you so much for the leg work you're doing on this.

Right on, Kurt. The man I knew over the hone was brutally honest ... with all that that word entails. Being a gentleman in what he wrote online was just part of how he felt a man should behave. Okie being Okie.

Ron Reimer wrote, on Facebook:

Mark was born second to his twin, and that pretty much set the tone of his younger life. The accompanying photo says more than a thousand words about his relationship with his womb mate. Our father's need to control everything and everyone around him resulted in each of his 5 sons leaving home as soon as possible. Mark was no exception, and his first port of call was Grace Bible Institute. This lasted approximately a semester, and ended in no particular glory. Next came Liberal Vocational Technical School (Liberal being a town's name!). Leaving there with no accreditation, he spent some time in Dodge City, where he lived for a while in a rental storage unit, with a Coleman camp stove for cooking. Eventually he settled in Garden City, Kansas where he spent many years working at the Beef Packing Plant. During the years that I was making an annual drive between Seattle and Meade, Kansas I would stop in and spend an evening with Mark, either going to a nice restaurant or swimming, or both. Mark and I shared an enjoyment of beautiful women, and I was always impressed with the confidence with which he chatted them up on these occasions. About 10 years ago Mark decided he needed a change and moved to Muskogee, OK. I've only seen him a couple of time since then, and someone else will have to pick up the story of his life there.

Mark's work position at the bottom end of the work force chain left him with minimal disposable income, and to my knowledge, he never saved a penny of it. Some of us worried that he would not have a very comfortable old age, but that never daunted him, and his disposable income was spent on the things he enjoyed here and now: music and guns. As it transpired, a comfortable old age was never an option for him. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, who also had an incurable brain tumor. Uncannily, she died 3 weeks short of her 54th birthday, so Mark outlived her by 3 weeks. Our father, the man who everyone respected and no one liked, died at age 74.

You scroll down to where his brother Ron wrote it, where the black and white photo is.

I've pasted the obit here though.
