This was news I prayed not to here. I didn't know Okie all that well but knew he spent some time living in Dodge City, KS., kinda made me feel like a neighbor. Condolences and prayers for him and his family.

Although I did not know the mayor personally he came across as a genuinely friendly and kind hearted person. I will miss his postings. RIP Mayor Okie.

Genuinely kind people are a rare commodity in this world. Okie was a beacon warmth, humility, and sincerity. I have often marveled at his grace, love, and consistency of character. I wish I was a lot more like Okie.
