I'm willing to bet not one of those was rude, mean or offensive.

You will be missed Mr Mayor.

RIP Okie. Ive been on here for a long time and I cannot think of a more genuine or positive person to ever be on GT. We were lucky to have him here and those that knew him in real life were even luckier. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends.

Seems like just the other day I was telling my wife about how someone had the local Sheriff's dept do a wellness check on Okie and refer to him as the Mayor.

It wasn't a title he sought, but rather a title given to him by the community. Mark was a bright spot, a beacon, in an otherwise dark world.

There are so few with a heart so kind. His loss will, no doubt, be felt by all those who have known him. No matter how little you knew him -- it just took one Okie post to cheer up your day.

I thank him for that.

Wow, I'm at a loss for words. GT isn't going to be the same without Mark around.

Mark was a very nice and gentle man. He never had a harsh word for anyone, always had kind words for most everyone.

I will miss him.

I don't know if I ever saw an unkind word from okie, and I remember many instances where he reached out to offer help in some way to others. You could tell he was a genuinely good human being, and I'm very sad to hear of his passing.

My heart sank to my stomach when I read my text message that I got up to this morning about Okie. Still in awww over it all and trying to take it in.

Okie had such a BIG heart for everyone. It was my pleasure getting to meet him in person when he made the trip to Mississippi in April 2007(?).

SC, remember shooting that 20 gauge he's holding in the picture you have up of him there?

He will be missed....

Oh no. This is so sad. Okie was always such a positive person and so kind. How terrible that he passed from this life so young. Very very sad.

Freakin' Jim Bianchi makes Okie look like Peter Dinklage in that photo. IIRC, it was you, me, Jim, John (Bates Motel), Tony, and Mark in that pic. I'll have to find it. Now I can post (with Mark's blessing) a never before seen candid shot of the Okster OUT OF UNIFORM!(No camo)

Perhaps, some of us here should do a buffet in honor. You, Jim, me and Tony if he's in town. What say you?
