More and more Americans are becoming concealed-carry permit holders
WSJ has the numbers indicating an encouraging trend of more and more Americans taking the responsibility of carrying a concealed weapon upon their person. Were only halfway through 2013, and it already looks like plenty of states are on track for their biggest permitting years on record:

Many states are actually easing-up on gun laws,
at least 20 states have loosed concealed carry laws and/or restrictions.

Apparently even the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence knows this.

I've said it before and I probably say it again...
There may be hope for US yet.

And it can be instructive to watch crime rates in relationship to increased gun ownership.

Not quite out of the clear yet. Still have that pesky $17 trillion debt looming over us. However, that's another discussion for another time.

I'm glad to see it though.

Of course more Americans would choose to exercise their Second Amendment rights, and I never miss an opportunity to encourage it whenever the subject comes up.

There is still a critical mass of thinking, educated citizens who are aware of the societal and political trends in our country and are moving to secure their individual rights while they can.

Quote:
"Forewarned is to be forearmed"
During the Rodney King riots in LA those shopkeepers who had previously armed themselves didn't have to contend with California's 15-day waiting period and were able to protect their businesses from the marauding, murderous hordes who attacked entire neighborhoods.

With today's technology society has to contend with flash mobs, that will no doubt materialize on any number of alleged political "wrongs", or just for the opportunity to rob, vandalize, assault, or kill. Given that the majority of the media is now radicalized the thinking, educated population more and more senses the need to take positive steps to protect themselves.

It's great that more are getting their permits.

Now we need more of them and of those who already had their permits to actually carry a gun, not just a permit.
