How do they sell this kind of law to the general public?

Before reading the article, I thought it was a Oregon or NJ type law, apparently the license is only required for gas station workers, not every motorist that pulls into a gas station.

That's good! Now they need to backlog all the licenses for 90 days due to askdjaskjd.

I don't know, but between the ages of 10-14 I pumped gas at one of my dad's stations. I even cleaned windows while pumping. I never found it particularly challenging.

McDonalds taught most people in this country to buss tables. The self/full service price differential taught them to pump their own gas.

I've never been to a CNG, LNG, or SNG gas station but isn't that all natural gas and not the petroleum product ? Is it a different process to fill at one of these instead of your local petro station ?

Just another scam to fleece people's wallets.

If they could require you be licensed to wipe your own rear end they would...and probably will.

You can't pump your own gas in NJ. It's been that way forever. I don't know if the island jockeys have to have a license, but I'd guess somebody is paying somebody all up the line. What a racket.

I think there's one other state that's the same way, but it eludes me.

I guess I am missing the part where those refer to gasoline. All of them I see refer to natural gas both compressed and liquid. I still don't agree with the license though.

And yet a local/state/federal government can extort money from the citizenry without any qualifications other than being in government. Amazing isn't it?

You have to have a license to be able to watch an average *schmo pump their own gas.

*schmo /SHmō/

Noun
A fool or a bore.
Synonyms
schmuck

I'm not saying that Bloomtardland is not a hellhole, but I used to haul, pump, and handle a lot of liquified propane.

I would not want to be within 100' of most people handling any kind of compressed highly flammable gas.

So imo, this is a non story.

Three day training to assure maximum effectiveness with a minimum of paper (excessive paper strains waste processing system). Cannot buy paper without presenting you license. If you exceed your allotment a doctors not must be supplied describing the reason for the overuse.

Did anyone actually look at the article or linked content? I believe the certificate is for someone being hired for full-service positions, not for someone pumping self-serve. I'm willing to bet this is a liability thing for stations hiring attendants.

Also, if you click on the link for the city's document? It's from 2001.

Sounds to me like "The Blaze" is just looking for something else to piss people off about and they had to dig DEEP to find it. And look at all the silly folks on here that bit hook, line, and sinker to follow their propaganda.

And yes, the Blaze is propaganda, nearly as bad as infowars.

Drive me nuts going up to OR to visit the in laws and have other people pump your gas. My wife tells me the locals like it because of all the rain up there. I'm not made of sugar I doubt I'll melt.
