He's mostly right. My hobby is being the IT guy for a local BMW shop.

Want to change the transfer case fluid?
Want to replace the battery?
What about replacing a turn signal stalk, abs pump or even a headlight switch?

You had better have the dealer diagnostic software on hand or the car won't run right or recognize the new part.

I do think we're entering a new generation of muscle cars with every manufacturer going to turbocharged engines. Example, with a quick flash of the DME/ECU, a stock 335i can put down 310hp/357 lb-ft at the wheels. A tuned 335d (diesel) will do 315 hp and 465 lb-ft!

Let's try this again.

The topic is modern muscle cars (Mustangs, Camaros, Chargers, etc.), NOT BMWs or Mercedes. No one was talking about such vehicles until ultra maroon showed up.

If we can all just follow along with the discussion properly, we can have more fun.

You just can't have a civil conversation, can you.

One insult after another. Many people use insults when they
feel insecure. I apologize if I'm causing you anxiety.

Fact of the matter is all new cars, including "muscle cars" use
complex control units for different systems.

I would say they're just as relevant. The Mustang folks have been going after the M3 for a while now. All of the car you mentioned compete side by side with Mercedes and BMWs in various racing series.

And FYI, this off topic post started it.

Very true, they've had the domestic vs import race series for years.

I'm insulting because I'm tired, frustrated and irritated.

You tried to say that modern (muscle) cars cannot have the battery removed for more than 5 minutes, or something (you never said what, NEVER answered my question) dramatic would go wrong.

You're wrong, and you can't just say "yeah, I had that one wrong". And that is what is really ticking me off.

Even the beachboys felt that foreign sports cars of the day were relevant as part of the muscle car scene. Jaguar, Lotus etc

No excuse to insult other forum members.
If you can't make your point without insults, they have no merit.

If and when I'm wrong, I'll admit it, unlike you.

Have a nice day.

Yes, Carroll Shelby built a few muscle cars. He started out
racing imports. Won the 59 24 Hour LeMans in a Astin Martin.

Here he is next to his Maserati

Blah blah blah, many pages, blah.

Bottom line: Muscle cars were about style, not power. Farkin 283's in some of them. My Malibu had a whopping 307 putting out a BLINDING 200hp. LOL

If you want power, go buy a sup'd up Lancer. You want style - muscle car era. (To me 66-72.)

I think Aaron Hernandez will be playing in the Hyperbole this year. "He's going away for an S-load of years."

That you, as do many people here in this thread, have little knowledge about (experience with) modern muscle cars.

How can I not have knowledge/experience when I've worked at dealerships that have serviced/sold them?

Given that fact, explain why I have to own one to know what I'm talking about.

No offense but the technology in your "modern muscle car" is not much different than the technology in most people's modern standard automobiles.

We've totally lost the point of this thread, which is how cool current muscle cars are.

I don't even know why you're making this statement.
