That's odd, as I've caught some of this stuff on HLN radio on XM, and they seemed to be pretty even when they stop to talk about things. Granted, I've only heard 60-90 minutes total.

Well.... The coroner confirmed he was dead... That's a big help since it's a murder case.

The State Attorney must be eagerly awaiting the end of this girl's testimony. Wow.

The stenographer is going to snap before this trial is over.

I would.

No, they're not. And I seriously wish they were, because I miss having an actual news source, but they're very backhanded. Even their "defense experts" that should be talking about how the case is going so well for the defense sound more like prosecution experts.

Did the audio de-sync for anyone else?

I started watching it this morning for the first time. I admit there is some balance, though don't see it as balanced. They thought Jayne did a stellar job for the prosecution!?! I left the house and started recording it on the DVR and now am watching it again, skipping over all of the commentary and commercials. Much better!

Is it coincidence that both of the legal aides/junior lawyers for the defense are attractive?

Is it possible that this girl is autistic? How does she come across as so uneducated, yet she can recite what day of the week, time, date all these events are taking place? Seems uncanny.

*Note* I am not trying to say that autistic people are uneducated.

It has nothing to do with autism, and everything to do with the prosecution hammering a timeline into her without bothering to work on presentation.

My God why doesn't West just grind this witness into the dirt in his cross? Is it just that he doesn't want to come across as a bully? Maybe that is his plan, but he sure is a lot more polite, letting her go on with her jibberish, than I would be. That said, if this is what the prosecution's case rests on they must want to crawl under the table.

They are praising her "authenticity". Saying that the jury will surely find her authentic.

I'm astonished. He's taking her apart, I figure we are about 45 minutes from the TOUGH questions, and already he has her admitting to lying anytime it is convenient to her.

Dear Lord. This woman is as useful to the prosecution as an inflatable dartboard.

I believe that the defense is purposely pausing and coming across as unorganized. Their line of questioning also goes down a "winding path" instead of the more obvious "direct route". I believe that this gives them the opportunity to give the witnesses enough rope to hang themselves. It seems to be a great strategy, at least to me, especially as it relates to the prosecution's "star witness".

I think he is letting her go on and on because everything she says seems to make her look worse, so he might as well just let her talk as much as she wants.

He is, actually. He's just doing it in such a way as to come off as a nice guy who's trying to help her through her story. And I think it's working, because even you think he's being "Mr. Nice Guy". Trust me, though, he's tearing her apart on this cross-exam, and it's going to get worse if the judge doesn't interfere.
