Apparently if one is flying cargo to the islands a DC3 is the better choice. I have to guess that runway length may be part of the reason.

And in case you didn't notice the incident we are talking about drew a little more than "local LE" attention.

You haven't heard of the product tampering cases, to kill a specific person and collect insurance? This would be the same thing just all at once.

I was pretty close to Building 7 when it came down. There weren't any explosions. It just kind of leaned to the north and laid down. when I walked past it a half hour before you could see it burning cherry red. Everybody thought it was kind of …nothing after the towers came down.

Worked with a guy who was fishing offshore that day. He said everybody on the boat saw a rocket go up into the air from farther offshore. Nobody on the boat knew there was a plane up there until it started coming down in pieces.
The plane that went down in Rockaway in Oct 2001 was on fire as it was inverting. the news never said anything about it. There's a video from the marine parkway bridge toll plaza that shows what looks like a missle heading towards the plane, but they both disappear behind a big green traffic sign

A few months ago I had mentioned in a thread that I sat next to Nelson DeMille on a flight from Denver to LaGuardia. We talked about his books and he told me Nightfall was one of the hardest to write simply because he had to make so much up in order to make the missle theory even plausable to readers. HH

Good book. Great ending. Some on here would believe it to be true.

I don't believe the missile theory children have the intellect to even understand any Nelson DeMille novel. HH

Your link says

Last month, a group of men who worked on the initial investigation challenged the NTSB findings on the crash, saying they do not believe the plane broke apart due to a fuel tank explosion. The group, however, did not speculate on the source of any possible ordinance explosions.

"Joseph Kolly, the current director of the board's Office of Research and Engineering, was the NTSB's chief fire and explosives investigator for the flight 800 investigation. According to the story, Kolly said the investigation proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the fuel tank was the cause of the explosion."

""We went to the `nth' degree, and then some," he said at the briefing as he revealed that investigators tested shoulder-fired missiles to see if they would show up on radar."
