No, I bought it new, actually. So, I had to buy the optic separately. Someone let me borrow on for a few days. I really like it. It is the NEWEST version of teh Mepro 21 - Revision "M"

Much less washout. I got the one with the triangle reticle.

Cool. I still blast my AUG-SA now and then. The Swarovski fixed scope that came with it from back in the days still works just fine. No leakage.

Nice shooter. I wonder how this tried and true bullpup will stand up to the new kid on the block (in the US) Tavor.

I second needing to add one of these to the roster.

VERY nice. I almost went that route myself, but decide against the extra weight. That does look awesome, though.

I actually had plans to buy a Tavor. I shot one about 2.5 weeks ago. Found out I didn't like it as much as I though, so I went with this instead

I'm old so I'm sure things have changed. But I recall someone back in 90s? having an issue with the AUG mags being softened by certain types of cleaners. Is this still the case?

Nice. How does it compare to the MSAR Aug? Fit, finish, accuracy, etc....

I have never heard that. However, I do not use harsh solvenst or gun scrubber anymore - especially on polymer weapons. I use Breakfree CLP for everything.

Steyr AUG mags are also known to be built like a tank. Not too worried about this issue.

Well, I have yet to shoot it. But, I do have a few observations.

Finish wise, the stcok on the MSAR I previously had was a little better cosmetically. However, it is nice that I am not busting my knuckles everytime I disassemble the weapon.

The MSAR parts were WAY too tight. I was hurting my hand everytime I took it apart and put it together. The Steyr is much easier to take apart.

I also prefer the way Steyr handles the way the bolt and moving parts group (for lack of a better name - I can't remember what it is called) over the MSAR.

I did like the longer side rail that the MSAR had - kinda miss it. Just a half rail on the Steyr.

The MSAR didn't like 42 round mags. From all I have read, the Steyr's reliability is pretty bulletproof. Looking forward to that

I don't remember specifically about Steyr mags but there was a solvent called trichloro-something that was not good for plastic in general.
