How 'bout that, glad to see they're out there. I'd never run into one outside the south. All I see everywhere else is Long John Silvers.

And I know they may seem similar, but there is no comparison for me. After moving northward, once or twice a year I would get a craving for that style of fried fish. It was an irresistible urge. And every time I ate it, I would be so incredibly nauseous that I would regret ever having seen the restaurant. It was true for any LJS location.

Captain D's is all the good with none of the bad. I'll gladly pay extra to not be horrifically ill. As a bonus, it's less oily and better tasting.

My family and I don't like 5 Guys and we probably won't go back. To us, it is an experiment in psychology. There are signs all over their walls telling how good they are, getting you to think that there may be something wrong with you if you don't agree. Their food is overly expensive and not all that good. Whataburger, originating out of Corpus Christi, TX is by far an overall better place for a great large and greasy burger.

my favorite was probably Jack IN The Box, but since I've moved up here it doesn't exist so I'm a Wendys fan now.

I like to be able to get breakfast all day, sadly nowhere near here seems to offer that.

Chipotle is really good, and pretty healthy depending on what you order. Actually, I like all of the burrito places: Qdoba, Moe's, Panchero's, Salsaritas.

There's a local chain here called "BurgerVille". I absolutely go ape for their Chicken Strips and Fries basket. The only problem: VERY expensive (about $11 with a drink; more if you want a milkshake).

fast food almost anything will do. I like different shops for different items. When i want quality food I usually try to look for a local dive.

We don't have them here in this part of Texas, but since y'all are talking Chipotle, I'll bring up something similar and better. Freebirds World Burrito. We'll be in Austin and San Antonio this weekend where we will get the pleasure of feasting at Freebirds!

I was just about to come back and post this.

I've only been once. The quality was fantastic. Expensive, but there was value in the dollars spent.

Love Pei Wei, a fast food version of PF Changs, owned by the same company, tried one in Dallas and really liked it.

Funny that you mention that about LJS. I remember vividly from many years ago my father got very sick when we went to Long John Silvers one night.

I agree with you about Captain D's. I've never had a bad meal there.
