Thanks for all the positive comments everyone. My daughter is doing great. Went to dinner last night and she was in a very upbeat mood this morning. We are going to watch her very carefully that she does not have any issues going forward as another poster suggested, so thanks for that advice.

On another note, I have noticed that some have commented on it being my first post. I've been a member here since 2010 and have posted several times since joining. It shows my post from yesterday as my first, which it wasn't. Has anyone had this issue before?

That doesn't support the guns kill people mantra so therefore it must be false

Thank god and good job for teaching kiddo well. I am impressed at her ability to handle herself in such a way.

Regards, GMB

Glad it worked out and she is ok. Also glad she had the means to protect herself if it would have come to that.

I have two daughters myself, both in their 20s now. There is a place that daughters take in a dad's heart that no one else can claim. I can imagine your feelings when you were on the way home. Good job by her because of good parenting by you. Thank you for sharing this very sobering story. God bless you both.

Great to hear she was not harmed.

You taught her well, you should be very proud.

My daughter is three and wants me to take her shooting right now! She always asks to see the guns and loves my AKs!

You both rock!!!

I can't even imagine the horror you went through during those 10 minutes on the way home. I'm glad your story had a happy ending and that she is okay.

I'm glad your daughter is doing well. Don't spoil her rotten but make sure she knows she did the right thing.

As for the post record, there were several times where the database went corrupt for GT and posts were lost, it's most likely what happened in your case. I hope you and your family stay safe and well.

Congratulations on your daughter being calm enough to do the right thing when things are going horribly wrong at home. It must have been a really scary thing for both of you. That the perp was just trying to find a place to hide and not specifically after your daughter is also a good thing.

So there was a carjacking with bailout and units on scene, all within 3 blocks of your house, but it took units four minutes to get there?

This + am I the only person that finds it amazing that someone would post this story here out of the wild blue as their first post? Strange.
