Night sights.

Twenty five cent trigger job.

Smooth Glock factory trigger.

I've also grown to like the factory extended slide release lever.

+1 having done just about every common mod, if i had to vote for just one it's the trijicons/ameriglos.

Gotta have a "combat" setup IMO -- steel vs plastic, and highly visible front with wide rear.

I've got a couple glocks with 3.5lb trigger connectors and the 25cent trigger job...but wouldn't change the connector on a carry gun. Too much liability IMO.

Talon or Hogue grips, night sights, slide-stop extension.

My first mod was night sights on my G23 gen 4 duty weapon. I also have a Hogue or Pachmayr grip(can't remember which one now) and an eagle, globe and anchor USMC Slide cover plate (just for heck of it). To round that out, I got a new connector and spring kit for 3.5 lbs trigger pull. To me, the night sights are a necessity for duty, but that new trigger pull is just so nice, running a close second to the sights.

Night Sights.

Other mods can be nice but aren't necessary.

(2) Buy a Gen 4.

Here's a good video of what some of the big names use. I thought it was a good video.

While I most certainly agree that aftermarket sights are a GREAT modification, the stock sights work well, for the intended purpose of the Glock pistols.

My old (Gen2) G21 has Trijicon night-sights. The other 4 Glock(s) have stock sights.

The 'best' modification is the 'best' ammunition that you can afford.
Buy it, until your wallet hurts, then buy some more.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

Range ammo is 'o.k.' for a day at the range, but, TRAIN with what you're going to carry, for defense purposes.

YMMV.

One more vote for night sights. Trijicon HD's get my vote.

After that, just buy ammo and targets.

Trigger if I can just do one.. But I always mod the factory sights so I can see them better, that doesn't cost anything other than a little time.

After lots of practice and range time, I put a combination green laser and flashlight on mine (Viridian X5L).

The light is a must for HD in the dark.

The laser provides an instant advantage at 25yds and out and is clearly visible in bright daylight. I put some time into finessing the laser mount and it seems to hold zero indefinitely. Yesterday I put a neat circle of 10 holes in a 3" diameter around the bull at 25yds with it, freehand, semi-rapid fire.

Only one mod to the Glock

I really like the new Hi-Viz fiber optic sights...as I am over 60, I install one of their "armor protected" front sighs on all my Glocks...makes a big difference for daylight shooting. Call Hi-Viz and speak with Trevor @ 800-589-4315...he will take care of you.

Mine is still stock, but night sights are in the plan. Just got to figure out which ones to get.

Only thing I did to my G23 was sand the bottom of the
trigger guard flat to the grip and install Talon grips.

Shoots a lot nicer now.
