Innappropriate Mother's Day Gift?

So a guy at my work got his mom a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret. I think that's weird, I would never get my mom that.

He insists it's not.

After finding this out a lot of hilarious conversation ensued.

What do you all think? Appropriate or not?

It seems weird unless you think about the fact that VS sells a lot of other items besides intimate wear. Even jeans and regular shirts. If his mom likes their jeans, and that's why he bought the GC, it's not weird.
But it's funnier to think about it the other way

Hmmm. Weird to me, but I guess it depends on his mom and her relationship with her son. Some mom's are vivacious and not afraid to show it. Hard to judge without walking a mile in his shoes.

Worked with a guy that got his a mom a lawn mower for Mothers Day. Someone asked why he didn't get a jack hammer to go with it. LOL.

My Mom's 91 years old this Mother's Day...she's still going strong, but think that any Victoria's Secret days she may have had are well behind her....unless they have a line of support hose.....

Got her a Droll Yankee Squirrel Flipper bird feeder.

http://www.backyardchirper.com/bird-house-50456.html

She loves to watch the birds at the feeder and gets a good laugh from watching the squirrels try to defeat any thing she's put up to slow them down. Think she'll like the flipper...good cheap fun.

I think I did worse.

One year I gave my wife a paper shredder. She was so pissed, I thought she was going to use it on a very important part of me.

Is it any wonder that the biggest day for new sign-ups at Ashley Madison (the infamous website women who want to cheat on their spouses sign up) is the day after Mother's Day? That Victoria's Secret gift certificate could come in mighty handy!

Sounds potentially bad to me also. But I also would not risk giving a vacuum cleaner either.

VS for my mom would not occur to me. Inappropriate.

My wife is from Greece and thinks all these made up holidays are weird. But our daughter loves it so the rule is handmade or cheap.

Julie made her a card in school and i bought her favorite donuts and will make her a cappuccino when she gets up. Easy!

Yep, the rule is nothing that plugs in. Unless it's made by Hitachi.

Easy to tell who has actually been in a Victoria's Secret and who hasn't. VS sells a lot more than just lingerie, and even a lot of panties and bras they sell are just everyday functional stuff, not particularly sexy. Not much different than a dad being given boxers and a tie for Father's day.

I vote no big deal. My wife's favorite perfume comes from VS.

I bought my mom KY warming lubricant upon her request one time when I went shopping for her.

So it's possible that his mom dropped hints to him that she wanted something from VS.

You are far more brave and thick skinned than am I. I cringe with horror merely reading that; I could never see myself discussing that let alone doing it for Mom.

I didn't enjoy it at all.I simply threw it in the cart and that was it.My mom unpacked it when I brought the bags to her.

Is his mom hot? If so, then we need pics. If not, then no, inappropriate.
