Rich Americans giving up U.S. citizenship...

Too many taxes, too complicated.

Many of their class supported Obama in two elections, now they are fleeing the taxes.

One question that come to mind, is how Mr. Mahmood Karzai, ever became a citizen? Guess being the brother of the president of some 3rd world hell hole has it's perks after all. Wonder how much of the "foreign aid" that we footed the bill for wound up in his pockets??

No big loss. Karzai and most of these dual-citizenship scum are either criminals or dirt bags. Don't let the door hit you all in the rear ends when you leave the building. Maybe the Taliban will give Karezai a dirt nap.

Yep. Reminds me a lot of the left-tard authority junkies that ruin their commie paradise cities/states, then flee just across the state/city/county line for more freedoms and less government, then immediately start to vote themselves the very political filth they fled from in the first place.

And you are an ignorant dumbass. FATCA rules have screwed hundreds of thousands of non-rich, non-criminal, non-dual citizen expats working overseas. These folks are now lining up to renounce because US tax rules have made it impossible to live and work overseas as an American.

Not a dime. That would be dishonest. Don't be so cynical about people.

Funny how people like Bill Maher don't want to stick around and wallow in the mess that they petitioned for.

We are looking to move from Oregon because of the ridiculous taxes and then considering retirement in Ecuador. No income tax, $100 property tax on a $150,000 home, a small sales tax, gas at 1.48 a gallon, live on the beach in Salinas in a furnished condo for $350 a month and $3.50 each for fresh lobster... sounds pretty good to me.

Some of us would love nothing more than to be US citizens...and some are so quickly renouncing it.

No offense, but how's that medical care? How about the safety of the food you eat? What kind of rights will you have as an American living in Ecuador?

I'd very much like to remind people that we have all agreed to a TOS and violations are a good path to being shown the door.
