Arkansas Officers....?

Anyone from Arkansas?

I had a fraudulent purchase on my credit card that was supposed to be shipped to an address in Arkansas. Any officers from that area up on the state law regarding a controlled delivery of the product and associated charges?

Luckily I caught it early - way early. Just a few hours after it showed up on my credit card online account.

My thoughts after looking at Arkansas law a bit would be "Theft by receiving" unless they got a good interview or further evidence then possibly the "Fraudulent use of a credit card."

Theft by receiving should be fairly easy. Fraudulent use of a credit card would take a very good interview.

The delivery location is 8 hrs and 46 mins from Chicago. So tempting....

I got a good handle on who the offender is - so hopefully local pd wants to run with it. The company he ordered from though does not track I.P. addresses unfortunately....so, if they don't do the delivery it will be a tough case to go after. As a prosecutor I would not go on just the email address alone since anyone can type any email address in they want.

No idea how this guy got my credit card info, but I do a lot of online buying. Always a good reminder to check your online statements fairly often.

How good is your anti-virus/malware protection?

Sharky, do you have Xbox live?

Few weeks ago they had an issue and my account was compromised, could be it.

No, I don't have one.

I found the offenders through internet searches and "password" hint questions on his outlook.com email address he used for the purchase.

If you have Xbox Live, and used your credit car to buy it from microsoft, that's probably how they got it. Microsoft is notorious for getting hacked and credit card info stolen and then used. Wouldn't be surprised if it happens at least once a month or so. It's why I always buy my stuff from Amazon instead.
