Dont get me wrong, i know they are good knives but i want something a little better for a secondary defense option.

It has been a long time since i bought a new knife.

No offence taken but you mentioned light. If your primary concern is a back up weapon forget light and get a Benchmade folder. I originally started carrying an Endura as a cut the BG off of my duty gun tool. Carried off side and with those very sharp serrations it was a natural. YMMV. tom.

I found the Endura to be the best compromise in light weight, durability and cutting power. Besides at under $70.00 when you use it the first time and it goes into the evidence room for who knows how long. Just go buy another. I've recently tried the blur but too thin for me to hold onto and I cut my hand opening it. Back to the old stand by. tom.

PS my second choice is a Benchmade 910S . Almost as light , maybe stronger, almost as much cutting power. I don't know if they are currently available however. tom.

Kukri carried iwb. Cut the bad guy's hand off of your gun. He won't do it again. Of course he'll have PTSD after, get SSI and leach off of the system.

I don't like the Axis assists, Axis knives are fast enough without.

Consider the Blackhawk XSF punch dagger with Kydex sheath and neck chain. You can buy one from the NRA store.

I rather like the kabar TDI carried weak side, for SD and weapon retention.

Not at all 'new', but still, +1

Super-solid and well-made knife, very light for the size, I *love* the axis lock, and amazing price-performance.

Or, (also not new) a Chris Reeve large Sebenza, if you want the same performance at 5x the price in a wildly more stylish package.

Or, if the Kukri idea seems too small and pathetic, you could always go for the 48" Cold Steel Viking Axe with 10" blade. IWB carry, of course.

Emerson commander. Pick a size. I like the original, but the mini is pretty handy as well.

That being said, I want a Kershaw Tilt. Anyone know where to get one?

All the recent knife threads have me shopping now.
Cabelas has a handful of Benchmade knives on sale ... probably going to go with the Griptillian.
I just cant see spending more than 100 bucks on a knife though....
There is a very decent cutlery shop not far from me....I am now afraid to go in there as I kinda like the Emerson Commander knives...but not the price tag...

Nope! Just a regular folder. Kinda heavy, though as most folders go.
