Ruger SR45

Made the mistake in going into my local gun store and just wanted to check out the new SR45. well it fit like a glove and was very well balanced and now I have one on order. I'm a fan of Ruger and like buying items made in the U.S. and with a life time warranty , how can I go wrong. I have a few thousand rounds thru my SR9 and find it to be a very good firearm that's hard not to shoot well. Waiting for the call!

Why didn't you buy the one the LGS had? So, we can say,

If I hadn't found a similar purpose .45 that I had wanted for a long time I would have one of those Rugers by now. I couldn't find a thing about them I didn't like.

The SR45 is definitely one for me to get next. Have not been excited about Ruger pistols for a long time, until now.

Enjoy your new gun. It's a lot of gun for the money.

OK, I just read a review tonight in one of the gun mags, and the trigger pull is 8 lbs. For a striker fired pistol? Kinda heavy, isn't it?

My fingers won't fit the grooves on the Glock 21 & 30 so I've been looking elsewhere. The M&P45 fit my hand nice, but I wouldn't mind taking a look at the SR45. However, wouldn't buy one now, no ammo to shoot, prices to high and give them time to work out the bugs. I've got friends that have bought guns recently and can't shoot them due to lack of ammo.

I know. But, I want to hear reports from real people, not just from a gun mag. If it turns out to be that heavy, I'd probably cross it out the list, too.

I wouldn't cross it out until I got one in hand. A number on the scale doesn't tell the whole story. that is especially true for a gun magazine report.

An 8# trigger on a 1911would be a disaster but with other trigger system might be manageable. I shoot da revolvers with heavier pulls so a number doesn't scare me off. I want to see HOW it operates and feels for myself.

I'll' probably fondle one at the Dallas Market show this weekend. If the trigger feels kinda like my SR9 with a 6.5 lbs pull I can live with it.

I don't mind a heavy trigger pull on a true double action Revolver feel or on a pocket gun but on a fullsize semi ...

Me to.
I have two SR9C and a SR40C. I ike that size gun.

I'd really like to see Ruger come out with a SR.357 SIG C model.
I like the .357 SIG round since I backed into it with a Glock 33.

Been thinking about an SR45 for some time now. Just picked up an SR45 from my LGS tonight. Price was $420 before tax. Got it cheaper than anywhere else local that did happen to have one in stock. Not shot it yet. The trigger pull seems less than my 5# Glock triggers. Can't wait to try it out. Wanted something with a smaller grip so my wife wouldn't have issues shooting it.
