Most Americans Now Believe a Gun in the Home Makes Them Safer

New Wash Post poll here:

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/201...b_source=pubv1

There are likely a few Boston residents that agree with that sentiment

Good find. Thanks!

Betcha a good many of those Watertown Lib's would have felt MUCH safer with a gun in their homes while that Muslim Terrorist was creeping around their neighborhoods on Friday!

But they wouldn't admit the same.

Cheers.

I have a friend from Boston. Very anti-2A after watching his dad get shot and killed when he was little. He called me asking advice on a home defense gun and a personal defense gun. His wife is all for it. Times are changing.

I think a lot of us had this thought. "Terrorist has IEDs/bombs/gun(s)? I want 30rds of .556 or 7.62 and a few handguns loaded up.

Doesn't Boston have NYC type gun laws in place?

I suspect we're going to see an even bigger demand for lawfully owned firearms and ammunition in light of recent events.

I suspect a heretofore mostly silent, but significant, majority of adults who own firearms, or want to own them, are going to be making their presence and beliefs increasingly more widely known.

I doubt this will please some other folks, including some politicians.

I'd bet there are a lot of closet gun owners around even in the most liberal areas. tom.

I'm surprised a member in good standing of the Propaganda Corps such as the WP even released the result of their poll.

What would have been even more interesting if the terrorist had been shot while trying to break into a home and the owner used an..umm...illegal by Boston Standards firearm.

Very interesting college grad numbers. Over 50% now think you are safer with a gun. I think the ani gun folks bit off more than they can chew. They went for it all and there has been major blow back.

I think your going to see a huge increase in fire arm ownership over the next decade or so. Many many many kids are being introduced to guns through outlets like youtube and video games, more so than ever before. It uses to be if your parents weren't gun people then you never had a chance but now there is much great exposure.

Also in the couple of political science blow off classes I have taken we discussed this issue. More peoples eyes have been opened, even "liberals."

I would like to see the results of a recent survey asking if any more Muslims should be allowed to immigrate into the United States. Cheers.
