Cats.

I have watched a couple episodes today of a show called "My cat from hell". Having watched a couple shows it appears to me that cats are freakin evil critters

You know when cats stare at you for a long time? Know what they are thinking?

Nothing at all.

But it scares a lot of people. And in reality all of those animal shows from hell are usually found out the folks are the culprits.

Had to stop watching the "Dog Whisperer" a long time ago as the owners were 99.9% Nit Wits!!!

Cats just are following basic instincts set down thousands of years ago, they generally are loving creatures to those that are kind to them. Those that I have kept as pets and as outdoor friends are kind and keep the local mice pop. under control. People on the other hand....well...

Were there any of the feared, deadly salt mine cats there?

I was a cat hater and allergic as hell- until I got a hypo-allergenic one. We got a Siberian and I will admit, I am smitten. Love her to death. Total indoor cat.

That Jackson dude that's on that show- what a freaky-deaky dude. He looks like Humpty Dumpty with facial hair. Looks aside, seems to know his stuff.

Glad to hear someone has had a good experience with a cat.

I'm a dog-person actually, but after trying to have a cat a half dozen times, they just don't work for me......

......except one! Harry Z. Cat was the slowest cat you've ever seen, and a great friend. If I could only clone him, I'd take him back in a minute! (He was MIA since about 1992) He was slow, and not sure why, but the average human could probably catch him. The dogs ravaged him regularly, until he learned to outsmart them! He loved to play with the string, and lived on top of the refrigerator.

Great friend, and I miss him.

Sorry I am confused. Salt mine cats or cats from the salt mine? And is there a difference?

We like dogs, but we both have demanding professions that would be unfair to dogs - so we have the most dog-like cats - Siamese.

They're all damn fine cats.

Generally speaking, the main difference in cats is usually related to their "breed".

Some breeds of cats are just more active, inquisitive, agile, playful, etc. than other so if you're wanting a specific type of cat, get yourself a book about cats before you bring one or more into your home.

In may ways cats are like dogs or children.
One cat may be a perfect "lapcat" for you but when you add another cat, dog, or child, the lapcat may resent the "competetion" and start acting totally different.

In adddition to reading up on cats, I'd suggest the cats be kept indoors 100% of the time.
Indooor/outdoor cats don't have the lifespan of "indoor only" cats, and it's usually due to either cars or dogs.
If you choose to let your cat(s) out of the house, consider collars (with your info on them) or the ID chips that vets insert under the cats skin to help identify them if they should be lost and then taken to a vet by a good samaritan.
