Very nice. I wish I could find half the stuff you do.
Another great addition!

Very nice my friend.

I had the same thing just like yours back in the 1970's. I am sure it is not the same one because I shot that so much it needed to be sent back to Smith for repair. I shot it some more but sold it long before it lost it timing again.

FWTIW, you will be able to shoot about 3000 rounds before it starts to spit. Now get busy!

Beautiful!! Here's my pristine 1978 Smith and Wesson model 29-2.

General Firearms Forum

It has the best trigger of any revolver I own and it's fantastically accurate.

I have 2 model 29's no dash. Both 4 screw. One of them is a 4". They don't look like yours though. I did pick up a pre 72 Super Blackhawk recently that is unaltered and looks to only have had a few rounds put through it.

Another great addition. I would guess that is probably the least common barrel length.

First of all, WOW! She's a beaut!

Yeah I dig them too. My 8 3/8" Model 29 keeps company with a like size and blued .45 Colt and a .41 Magnum. I wouldn't mind finding a 27 to match.

We're even up on .44 magnums at 8.

Finally, Brian, when you say this is the last of anything I start looking for the salt shaker.

Thanks SC

I've got the 8" 27, but not the 41 mag.

Man that is gorgeous. I'm really starting to appreciate the older S&W guns. you've got me currently looking for a good shape Model 39. I also really need to pick up a blued smith revolver in great shape. I love the figure on those grips as well.

Nice revolver Brian, to me that's the epitome of a 44 Mag. Makes me miss my Dan Wesson that I spent a few seasons hunting with.

I will! Thank you. I really do have the twin of that Model 29; and I WISH I could take pictures as well as you do. The Model 29 with an 8 3/8 inch (half-underlug) barrel is the finest handling, most naturally balanced handgun I've ever owned (and I've owned a few). That's, 'Why' I used to have three of them; as well as, 'Why' I'll always have the third Model 29, and the least used of all, in the safe. I know my wife will never fire it; but I can't bring myself to capitalize several firearms; and this is one of them.

It hasn't been mentioned, so far; but aren't those Smith's custom dark cherry wood grips on your new Model 29? Doesn't look like the factory standard goncalo alves grips to me. Deadite's photo appears to show the standard grips; but your photos look like factory custom cherry wood.

Really?

And all this time I've thought the B.S. quotient on most internet gun forums is higher than Hurricane Sandy's wind speed; but if you say so ....... !
