After my son left the office to wait outside, the doctor gave me the unsweetened truth that he has an agressive tumor that is potentially fatal.

I am heartbroken. Every time I sit down with nothing else on my mind, I am brought to tears.

Please pray for my son.

I spent time with God last night and prayed that his will be done. If it is not in his will for my son to live, I pray that I have the peace to accept it.

I am humbled to think that God loved us so much that he sent his son to die on the cross for us, I can't say that I could give my son for anyone.

I'd gladly take my son's place right now. Many of you have grown to be my friends over the years and I appreciate your prayers and support.

My son's name is Caleb and he is 13 years old.

We will be getting treatment at M.D. Anderson here in Houston.
Like you, I am a man of strong, Christian faith. Caleb and your family will be in my prayers. I will write his name on the "concerns and prayers" card in church this Sunday.

My mother had to sit next to me in a doctors office when she was told that because of my heart condition, I might not make it past 18. I am 51 now.

I've been thinking about you both a lot today. Re: your OP, I think it's ok to let Caleb see that you are scared, sad, etc and let him know its ok for HIM to feel that way as well. I just feel like that is important. For both of you.

I'm glad you live in a place that has such wonderful care easily available.

Please remember to take care of yourself while you are taking care of him.

I'm not a "religious" guy....never have been. I do believe in my spirituality, however. My brother is a tribal "medicine man", or perhaps "healer" would be a better word. I will offer my own type of prayers, and use tobacco as the traditional offering, as will my brother. I will also send positive energy your way, in the hopes that the "Creator" will hear me, and help you in dealing with this difficult situation.

I appreciate all of the notes of support for Caleb.

Once we have "That Discussion" I will be sure to read him your responses.

Mrs. VR, I will show emotion once we are able to tell Caleb the facts. Right now, we are still waiting to stage the disease and he is not asking any questions, so I am just trying to take it minute by minute.

My son is a very sweet hearted kid that seems to get along with pretty much everyone.

I broken into tears a couple of times at work today and it is hard not to think about him.

Thank you for your prayers.

I'm pulling for Caleb, you and the rest of your family.

Once the staging studies are complete you will feel somewhat better because only then can you and the docs formulate a specific plan to beat the cancer down.

Prayers sent for you all. If it can be done, MD Anderson can do it. Sometimes they even do what can't be done.

Know that God has a purpose!!!

Your son will be in the prayers and hearts of me and my family! ALways know that God has a purpose, I to like you would feel the same way,I would gladly take my sons place!

My son had eye surgery 2 years ago ,I thought I was a strong man,But when it came time for him to go in the op room, I rode on the gurney into the room with him and when they put the gas mask over his face I broke down like A BABY! I held it back as long as I could ,but as soon as he went under the tears started and woundnt stop.

Al I could do is talk to God!

Our prayers are with you!

Jeff

gemeinschaft;

As a father of two boys your post was devastating. I cannot find the words to tell you how sorry I am that you and he have to go through this. Praying with all my might that you win this battle and have time with each other for years to come.

Sean
