Newtown shooter Lanza had more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition in his house

1000 rounds!?!?

Who could possibly need that much ammunition? Why do we allow people to keep such enormous stockpiles of dangerous ammunition? Obama needs to intervene and tell these gun nuts how many guns and how much ammunition is acceptable per household.

Quote:
Newtown shooter Lanza had more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition in his house

Investigators found more than a thousand rounds of ammunition, an unlocked gun safe, samurai swords, pictures of a bloody dead person and a book titled “Train Your Brain to Get Happy” inside Adam Lanza’s home in the hours and days after he killed 26 people, including 20 first-graders, at Sandy Hook Elementary School, according to search warrants unsealed Thursday.

What a joke. I can't believe they think 1000 rounds is a news worthy heading

EDIT: Now the are reporting he had 1700 rounds. Double faint ...

1000 rounds?

Who could possibly need that much ammunition? Why do we allow anyone to accumulate that much ammunition? Only a crazy person with evil intent would possess that much ammunition. We should prosecute whoever sold this individual such a large cache of ammunition.

Oh, and on a completely different subject, when I got home from work yesterday there were five packages... containing 200 rounds of 30-06 each... sitting on my front porch. Sent to me by... the CMP. You know... the government entity that promotes civilian marksmanship.

I kid you not.

Murder and Mayhem courtesy of "Momy Dearest"

It is "Bates Motel" the Mass Shooting.

She knew he was a basket case, but repeatedly purchased for him firearms, ammunition, gift certificates for more firearms, swords, etc. Then left said nutcase alone for the weekend to forumulate Murder and Mayhem all courtesy of "Momy Dearest". I suppose the only justice that came out of this is she got killed too.

If its 9mm, youll only kill 50.

Seriously, I wish more people realized 1k rounds is maybe 2 trips to the range for a lot of people. :(

The antis relate the number of rounds that you have to the probability you will be the next Timothy McVeigh. Anything over 200 rounds raises a red flag and should require further law enforcement investigation.

Why do you guys need so many rounds? You should be able to hunt deer all season with a box of 20.

Thats funny. at any given time Ive probably got nearly 1000 rounds in my pickup behind the seat. Usually there is a value pack of .22, at least 100 rounds of each pistol caliber I shoot and usually some .223, 270, 270wsm, .308 and usually some 20 and 12 gauge bird shot.

CNN said 1600 rounds iirc, almost precisely the amount of .223 I have on hand. I better shoot some of it up. Dispose of the evidence so to speak.

I'm kidding. And it wouldn't do any good. I have 1k rounds of cheap .45 ACP ball and 250 of FMJ .38 Sp. on a UPS truck somewhere that should be here Tuesday. There was a 5-box limit on the .38.

A Samurai sword, a bayonet, and 12 knives.

Does that count kitchen knives? I would expect any sel-respecting GT member to have at least 20 knives.

Looks like they updated the article to say he had 1700 rounds of ammunition. Almost 2 times as deadly as they initially thought!
