Please Talk Me Down Off The Ledge Before I Jump

I was at the LGS today.

I walk in. Look in the pistol cabinet. What do I see? A G29 Gen4.

I am thinking that at $650 it is about $50-75 high (the G29 next to it was $600) but given the current climate of nothing existing I need this to compliment a G20.

Please, talk me out of this....why do I need another gun?

OK, mines a G20 but It's prettier than both my G29s.

Andrew, wasn't that kinda the idea behind the G29SF? It fits me better than my G19 or my G23. Maybe it's just my unique sized hands, but I love the G20SF and the G29SF, although with the Gen4 versions the SF part is moot.

Dana, I'm a trained negotiator. Please listen carefully and do exactly what I say. If you do everyone will come out of this safely and without regret.

1) Step over as close as you can to the ledge.

2) Close your eyes, take a long deep cleansing breath, and JUMP!

My G20's and G29's both Gen3 and Gen4 are day by day becoming my favorite of all 20+ of my glocks. They can be soft loaded to mimic 9mm ballistics, loaded hotter for spicy range ammo, and loaded to nuclear levels for hunting bear, dear, etc. The 10mm in any size, shape or color can do pretty much anything you can ask it to do (and more). Yes, I'll admit I'm partial, but I've been a 10mm fan since the FBI wussed out with it in the 80-90's.

The 29 is almost the same length. The grip is a bit shorter, but that can be changed with a grip extension. Then it will be almost like a 19 except a little fatter.

So, let this be a lesson to you. If you want to be persuaded against buying a handgun, visit the Brady Campaign web site or maybe a special interest site where the members would prefer you bought a watch, a new kitchen blender or maybe a guitar or something. Coming here for such advice is just not going to give you anything but reasons why you MUST own one.

Mine should be in the Club tomorrow or Friday at least to fondle...and I believe I made the only sensible decision. At $625 I could have waited to see if prices would drop, but then I'd be walking the streets undergunned and lacking confidence possibly forever, waiting for a 5% lower price that likely will never come. I've paid more for lunch.

Do this thing. You know in your heart it's the right thing to do. If not for yourself, then for Americans everywhere who would wake up tomorrow feeling a little better, knowing the good guys are just a little more heavily armed than they were yesterday.

Bongo Boy I can't even give a +1 on that...it's just not high enough. Will you settle for a +10?

Well, you guys aren't very good at talking me down!!

I didnt have time to go to the LGS today..but called (its the range's store that I belong to) and had them hold it.

Should be able to go at 10:15 tomorrow (after a business meeting) and pick it up. Hopefully background checks are caught up and it only takes an hour or so.

G20 was my first glock.

Its what started me on Glock instead of H&K. Had H&K made a USP in 10mm, well, I probably would have never bought a glock.

Then came a G34. Much better than a heavy DA trigger pull first shot followed by SA for IDPA.

But 10mm is what got me into glocks.
