Go ask the same question on the 1911 Forum and see how the tally goes......You'd probably have a different outcome, don't you think?

No one ever went broke underestimating the American public.

The OP says "two identical guns for the rest of your life. . ."

As "guns" go, Glocks wouldn't even make my list.

Had the thread said "handguns," no Glock would make the cut at 50 or better.

Had the OP said "pistols," Glocks wouldn't even make my top twenty.

A lifetime is too short to spend it with two cheap and identical crap pistols.

Yes, I do think.

But please, continue to speak down to me in a condescending manner while assuming that I am not aware that being on Glock Talk is a factor.

That doesn't change the fact that compact and sub compact Glocks in 9/.40 have clearly 'won' this question/poll/whatever.

Why? So I can then use it to get MORE guns from my opponents cause one gun just ain't enough in such a hostile environment.

Yup, just call it "going shopping"

Based on just logic, I think we have a winner!

These threads come up so often on various forums, but I enjoy them anyway. It reveals something about what each of us values most in owning a gun. I really like owning nice (and expensive) firearms, and I have some really nice ones. But that's secondary to what I can do with a gun. I picked a Glock because I shoot it as well or better than any other platform, and it's a standard modular design. I have multiple guns worth of spare parts, most of which are interchangeable between all of my guns. Same for mags. So for this thread, I choose function over form.

I agree. That is, IMO and IME, the purpose behind a mental exercise like this.

Not everybody understand or comprehends that, but those who do, or who simply answer honestly, shine some light onto that part in bold

Some are primarily interested in self defense, some merely in home defense, maybe SHTF, hunting, target shooting, collecting...lots of different reasons for owning firearms
