It is unfortunate that S&W doesn't make those anymore.

Does anyone know if a 686 with 2.5 or 3 in. barrel feels much bigger & heavier?

Yes it does feel heavier. Now you can still pack it in a belt slide holster real well but the 686 is more massive. About like a 3 inch GP-100 (and yep, I have that one to.)

Sometimes I think that if I would find one like that I would sell my G26. Usually after a range session where I have lost 10% of my brass in the gravel.

Very nice! I have a 66-2 in perfect condition and if I carried a wheel gun, that would be it.

Very nice! I've got the blued version of that gun. The K frames are probably my favorite frame size followed by the N frames.
