What's Left at Your LGS? Wal-Mart?

I'm just curious what's left at y'all's local places. I've been on the hunt for what I shoot locally and have only gotten lucky a couple times. Another local store has the 40 I'm looking for but I'm not paying they're price cause I'm not (that) desperate yet.

Anyway, what calibers are left that you may have not played with much? All that seems to be left are rifle calibers that fall out side of my normal .270, 30-06, and 35 Rem. Stuff like 25-06, 300WSM, 6(or was it 7)mm Mag, even saw some 300Weathrby Mag.

Is there a reason this stuff is still sitting there or am I missing out on something?

In the last two days I stopped at Wal Mart, Dicks, Gander Mt.

The only thing they had was rifle ammo and shotgun shells.

I guess people do not think they need 10K of ammo for a bolt gun.

No 22lr, 9mm, .40, or .45. One LGS had some .380 and .357 at a fair price. I have a LCP but have 8 boxes of target ammo and 4-5 boxes of SD ammo so I passed.

6 months ago I bought a S&W M&P 15-22 and a Ruger sr22 to save money shooting 22lr. I have not seen any 22lr at a fair price in 2-3 months.

I'm almost done looking for ammo for a few months. Its ridiculous in Phoenix/Mesa area. Sometimes you can get lucky at Walmart, but you have guys that sit in line at 6am, buy as many boxes as they can, and re sell them on backpage for 3x the amount. Pisses me off that people who actually shoot and compete cant because some prick wants to make a buck.

Oh and a LGS has federal 100 packs of 9mm for 65 bucks. Its unbelievable.

Nothing at walmart (well, nothing useful anyway) as far as ammo goes.

They do have rifles & shotguns stocked tho.

As for LGS.. ha.. we don't even have a LGS anymore.

They closed down & moved 30+ miles away at the end of February. blah.

Tell me about it... Have you noticed on BP that everyone talks about this shortage of ammo, but every third post is a brick of 22lr for 100$? I've given up... I was at shooters world on 83rd and cactus 2 weeks ago and they had cci mini mags for 49.00 for 375 if you used their range. I didn't see them untill after we were done but still picked up a box.

I was out of town this weekend and stopped by a WM just for the heck of it. They had .45 and .40, so I bought all I could then went back in the morning and they had received a shipment that night and had even more 45, 40 and also had gotten some 9mm, 223 and 7.62x39! Damn their 3 box limit! Decisions, decisions...

Was at the Walmart in Keokuk had some nice shotguns and rifles. I looked around and finally saw that the ammo was all under the counters around the cash register.

Walmart had two boxes of .380 hydra shocks, and four 100 round boxes of Winchester .40. I bought three of the four because that was their limit. Lots of .17 hmr, lots of 22 shot shell. Various rifle rounds that seem like they were sitting in the back room for fifteen to twenty years.

Today I hit 5 Wal-Mart’s (all within 15 miles of each other)I got 1200 rounds of 45 Auto ($40.97 per 100 box). I'm starting to see regular stocklevels here in Huntsville, AL.

For ammo? Not much. Walmart still has nothing but typical bolt action hunting stuff, and my LGS has Prvi Partizan M193 but it's about $600/1k

I haven't been able to find anything around here for months now!

When I do finally manage to find a box of ammo I'm looking for, it's at least twice the price it should be!

I've been shooting way less these last few months and it doesn't look like I'll be doing too much this summer!

I have plenty of ammo stocked up but I don't want to shoot anything because I don't know when (if) I'll be able to replenish it. I'm sure damn glad I bought everything I did when I did.

This is getting ridiculous.

My LGS has shelves full of ammo. The 2 local Agways are also loaded. My local Walmart has taken down their ammunition case. Of the 3 Walmarts I have been to in PA, the ones in Honesdale and Milford have empty shelves,, the one in East Stroudsburg had full shelves of ammuntion.

walmart, dicks, etc is at the point that they do not bother to put ammo on the shelf.

instead folks are getting the develery schedule and hang out at the ammo counter waiting for the trucks to unload. i picked up the limit friday night at wally world- 300rds of .45 WIN white boxes at ~9pm after dinner. some guys had been there since ~6:30 and said I missed the 9mm stock earlier...

at dicks folks are lined up at the ammo counter every morning.

No 9mm or 22lr to be found at any Walmart or LGS around here. I was talking to the clerk at Walmart on Friday and he said that he is getting 9mm in, but people know it goes out around 7pm and they wait there for it and scoop it all up. My LGS has 9mm but he is only selling it to the customers who buy 9mm pistols from them so they can have something to put in their new gun.
