A problem solved thanks to Toby196

Yesterday I tried to post a pic in the picture thread and got a screen that said I had "exceeded my quota" I couldn't understand it. Been posting pics on the internet for a long time and never encountered that before.

I size my pics to 800 pixels by 600 pixels and have never had a problem here or anywhere else. I was invited off the thread lest I interrupt the flow of pics of those beautiful 1911s So I decided to just let it go.

But I logged onto that thread this morning and Toby 196 had posted up and I think he got it right. For years I used Image Shack but recently I began just posting my pics as image files from my computer. I'm convinced that this is the problem.

I went back a resized a pic to 600 pixels by 450 pixels and it worked. So I'll still be able to post but at a slightly smaller size.

Thanks Toby 196 for having the time the patience and the knowledge to help me out.

Carry on........

I never realized it made a difference and I still don't understand all I know about it. But there are a couple of places where my pics show up on websites as thumbnails and you have to put the cursor over it or even click on it to enlarge it some but not all.

I had to get away from Image Shack. They made so many changes and requirements in such a short time that I was unable to keep up with it. When I went to Windows 7 and Firefox I got a program that makes it really easy to resize pics I started uploading the files right from my computer. I may check back on Image Shack and see how things are there and get back to it. We'll see....

Actually the pic I was gonna post was a kind of tongue-in-cheek jab at all all a you 1911 guys. It was intended to be a joke and give y'all a smile. I recently acquired a Chiappa 1911-22. It's the best looking paper weight I've ever had. It's fun to shoot and looks alright but it is not accurate at all. I was gonna post it and show y'all my purty new 1911. After seeing the absolutely drop dead gorgeous 1911s that have been posted I'm glad now I didn't get it up. Man those things are lookin' GOOOOD!

Well now that I've 'splained it all I'll go ahead and post it up. The laugh is on me.

Nice. I've been thinking about one of those mini browning 1911 in 22lr, but I can't find any ammo. I'll just hold off until mid summer. They look like they'd be fun to shoot.

Lots of gun manufacturers are making a 1911-22. Just avoid the Chiappa at all cost. I took it to a gunsmith to see if he could help me out with some better sights and he said that it was so cheaply made that he wouldn't touch it. I need to find a 100rnd drum for it....it's definitely a spray and pray shooter....
