"Civil rights" group wants COPS cancelled

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/civil-right...050000455.html

Basically says that it portrays officers as too competent and the suspects as idiots.

Reality usually bites for "Civil Rights" groups, because there is no guarantee of "Civil Intelligence".

Well, we can't have that can we?

Yeah - cops too intelligent, like the night they visited us at Denver PD and the car the camera man was in got rammed by another cruiser responding to the same call?

(I am so glad I was workig a power shift car that night and could always be on the side of the District as far away from the cars with COPS cameras as possible.)

Don't forget "get on it, Mel" and the midwest officer who got his Crown Vic stuck on train tracks chasing a dirt bike (whatinthebluehellwasthatboythinking) and the Texas officer who smashed out the windows on the front of a mansion only to find the fire was at another house? Or Corporal Papi? Cops is often training material for how not to do it.

Well it appears now that we should suspend 1A rights in order to protect idiots.

They want the commission of a crime to be a signature of intelligence.

Good luck with that.

Hey, I love that "GET ON IT, MEL" guy. He provided many laughs during the academy.

Well, not all officers are competent, but the suspects are accurately portrayed.

What about the other "reality" shows? I think American Idol should be the first one to get cancelled for judges being portrayed too competent, and participants as idiots.

That 'Midwest Officer' was with Des Moines, IA PD. There were several episodes of his 'showmanship'.
